The emerald looks nice. It’s not too dark. I see emeralds in jewellers that are almost black. Don’t like them at all. Don’t know where they’re sourced as jewellers never seem to have that info.

Like TMWNN's note on the lonely, random Cherry Blossom Morganite in Gem Collector's Galilea hour, it's definitely a "See what we can get" rather than "This is our price". If you lock down all your online catalogue from discount codes, largely abandon "wheel" hours (except for Jeff's shifts) and make Price Pledges nigh on impossible to realise, this is what you are left with...
Shoot yourself in your own foot comes to mind. No favours to anyone, business wise or customer wise.
Jeff is the only presenter I watch now. He's the only one who has a genuine interest in, and knowledge of, the gemstones he's selling. He also has that rare quality of integrity, and works hard to get everything right. He should be the MD, though I don't think he'd want the job!
Well, in my experience of high street jewellers, they're quite prepared to charge extortionate prices for their jewellery but know absolutely nothing, or care less, about the origin of their gemstones, or anything about their quality, background, or any treatments they may have had. This is one of the reasons I was so impressed with Gemporia. At least, they knew where their gemstones came from! Talking about shysters, go no further than the high street.

I think consumer commission is the most appropriate, or relevant ombudsman. And if Ellis called this forum “Trolls” for pointing out significantly concerning sales practices that don’t appear anywhere else, then she doesn’t know the meaning of the term.Illegal? No. Shystering? Absolutely

I'm not a huge fan of emeralds but I do like Zambian ones. I bought a half-carat ring with accent diamonds from Gems way back when and it's always been one of my favourite rings.
Me too. I have a classic portrait (Jeff sometimes calls it "Duchess") design from The Outlet. I love the way it almost can't make up its mind if it's green or blue. It somehow seems to flex between the two, right before your eyes.
Honest question - Is it me or is this actually genuinely expensive? (Heated, included or SI, 2.87g 9K gold)
I've had a look around (searching for: blue sapphire 9k gold cluster ring). Is the "Ceylon" origin worth that price for small, not very blue, heated and included stones?

It gives you more info than Australian TV Shopping. Its a good price compared to what you get for £499 in Australia for the same- see band ring. The similar design on right is £700. Majority of sapphires are treated with heat. It improves yield from cutting the stone as well as colour.

I'm kind of on the fence with this one. I think I'd want to see it 'in the flesh' to give an honest opinion.
If the stones are well cut, not windowed and fairly blue 'in the flesh', then for heat-only stones, it wouldn't be too bad a price in my opinion.
However, I've always found Gemporia's Ceylon Sapphires a bit hit-and-miss. Some look good quality stones - other looks wishy-washy and/or windowed. If this ring fit that description, then no, I wouldn't pay anywhere near that.
Despite all of Gemporia's faults, I've always found their Sapphires prices to be considerably lower than other retailers. You'll be lucky to find diffused / Beryllium heated sapphires for the price of Gemporia's untreated and heat treated Sapphires. Even Gem Select's prices can't compete with Gem Collector's Sapphire prices.
To be honest, for all the hype, I don't think the Ceylon Sapphires are the best that Gemporia sell anyway. The untreated Nigerian and Madagascan Sapphires that they has a few years ago were really good quality, and REALLY well priced too. Because they were untreated, some had a green to blue colour shift too.
The heated Aussie Blue sapphires are a bit too over-saturated in my opinion - almost blackish-blue in colour.
The Ceylon and Burmese can be a bit too light in colour (plus the Burmese are REALLY included).
Not making light of it, but that's a bl00dy nuisance. Whenever I buy either pendants, chains or necklaces, I rarely take the tags off. I do the rings, coz I wear rings, but less so the others. Can't you still complain and / or ask for compensation (or replacement), as it wasn't your fault?

The tags only apply if you change your mind.
If you've taken the tag off but its defective, and you're still within your 6 months warranty, you can send it back.
I threw out the return slip and everything before I realised the big crack. I’m going to leave a bad review with photos to warn others and see if they offer anything from there. They have 15 pendants in stock from Dave’s sell out showcase, so they might want to check them all. Grrr
