ok guys, the emotional rollercoaster continues. we had a bad day yesterday - spent the afternoon with a friend and came home to find louis had been sick. he got on my lap as soon as i sat down and was showing signs of nausea. rang the vet who told me to inject him then and there instead of this morning. because i was fussing about chaging steroids and should i have tried pilling him, he advised me to try on sunday morning and if he refused, to inject sunday evening. i told gim about the next door problem and he said he thinks even if i can persuade them to not put chicken out, that louis will try the kibble. he then said despite that, he might find something on a bird table and it would be safer to keep him in but i had to weigh that against his desire to go out.
another bad day today in that it was my uncle's funeral. when i got home, i decided to ring the specialist vet. i hate to feel i'm going behind james back but james had suggested i ring david on monday. to my surprise he said without hesitation - 'if he has a good night, let him out tomorrow. for his sake and yours, he needs to go out'. i told him about next door and he said 'go round with a bottle of wine'. it goes against the grain but for louis' sake, sounds like a plan. he also advised not to try pilling him but to stick with the injections - for the same reason, better for both of us. he said as louis has been so seriously ill, he would expect the odd blip in his recovery and was concerned but not overly so.
so.......tomorrow could be The Big Day :sun: :sun::sun:
got his new collar ready - black with red studs
