Old LG stock?

I bought the original LG spackle in the supersize jar last weekend and when it has arrived it is in a red box with a big (tacky looking) star on the front. I know the normal packaging is a sleek black box with a red rim. Have I been sold old stock, do you think? I was hoping to stockpile it so I don't know whether to send it back.

mine's just arrived, it's in the black box with the red rim.
