Not heard of Bon Marche ? Where do you live ?
I’m disabled and can’t remember the last time went to the shops. Must be at least 10 years. I knew there used to be one in my local shopping centre but checked online to see if it was still there.I live near Cambridge which doesn’t appear to have one on the list!
There is one in Saffron Walden but the main factor is I’ve been completely housebound for 17+ years so even if there was one within 1 mile I wouldn’t have known about it!
Thank god for the internet! X
You need plenty of storage for Cozee Home stuff. I bought similar before lockdown and when I took it to the charity in a huuuge black bag I whispered the words "good luck"Update on my first ever Cozee Home order. Arrived today, going back tomorrow! It's huge!! And rather bulky, that massive collar does nothing for me. The whole garment is pretty shapeless to be honest. I fell for the hype and now have to pay return postage!! Will I never learn??
I began typing this on Weds but crashed…I’m disabled and can’t remember the last time went to the shops. Must be at least 10 years. I knew there used to be one in my local shopping centre but checked online to see if it was still there.
Totally agree with you about the internet. I’ve been having home groceries delivered for around 20 years now. In the past as it was cheaper paying the delivery costs than getting a taxi there and back. We have an awful bus service here and none of them go to the local supermarkets as they’re all out of town. Friends used to take the Mickey out of me for having home deliveries but a few of them phoned me up during Covid to ask how it all works as they needed home deliveries.
At least when you order stuff online, you know it’s in stock and therefore no wasted journeys to the stores and it not being available.
You’re not selling it to me!Lorraine Kelly is Bon Marche Ambassador
I asked my carer this - she is 30 years older than me mid 70’s…Not heard of Bon Marche ? Where do you live ?
Oh dear what a shame.Update on my first ever Cozee Home order. Arrived today, going back tomorrow! It's huge!! And rather bulky, that massive collar does nothing for me. The whole garment is pretty shapeless to be honest. I fell for the hype and now have to pay return postage!! Will I never learn??
Thanks TLL, I'll have a look at the m and s one. Agree, it did look ok on the TV but in reality it was rather thin and shapeless. Won't be ordering from Cozee Home again.Oh dear what a shame.
Glad I didn’t go for it now, either (sorry!)
It did look nice on screen…
Have you seen the M&S teddy fleece cardi?
Looks less bulky and only £20 atm…
There’s a zipped version too.
But not as soft as I imagine the Cozee home one was…

I used to have home deliveries even when I was reasonably able. It actually worked out cheaper to have it delivered than paying out taxi fares. Why search the shelves, put in trolley, put on conveyor belt, put back in trolley, put in taxi, take out a taxi and then put away. Much better to have delivery drivers bring the door and I put groceries away. Plus it saved my joints and back hurting. Added benefit that there’s no temptation to buy stuff that I don’t need.I began typing this on Weds but crashed…
Oh I’m really sorry you’re in the same/similar boat…
I’ve got a chronic illness which I’ve had since I was 21. Mid forties now.
Also battling more acute illness(es) these past few years too.
I’m “lucky” I have a carer in for a few hours each day bc I can’t do much at all for myself…
She goes to do her own shopping each week so will get me the odd bits I need..
But my main shop is done monthly via Tesco online…
Have done it for 2 decades like you and I have to say it’s an amazing service.
As you say a lot more people needed it and used it during covid (and since), but I was lucky enough to get priority access to some slots then.
The price of delivery has increased esp for the times when I have someone here to do it for me but still mostly good value.
And my only option!
Also offers me freedom and some independence to choose items.
Can’t imagine how people survived with it in my situation before - very reliant on others I guess - but now if I’m well enough I can order undies and clothes online - and all manner of everything via Amazon too!
Imagine QVC was a real boon back in the day too. And now for convenience but not quality or value?!
Home deliveries are a boon, especially now public transport is so awful (assuming that's an option, which it unfortunately isn't for some people). Our small local town is OK for everyday needs, and we have a station and buses close by, but the public transport system has deteriorated so much over the years that a reliable service is now rarer than hens with teeth, so for clothes and 'big' items you've got to go to one of the larger towns, and if you use a car then by the time you've factored in the cost of petrol and car parking charges (which are astronomical in most of the larger towns round here, quite apart from car parking space being inadequate) then online shopping is so much more convenient and costs less. And who wants to wait for non-existent buses when you've a lot of shopping to carry?I used to have home deliveries even when I was reasonably able. It actually worked out cheaper to have it delivered than paying out taxi fares. Why search the shelves, put in trolley, put on conveyor belt, put back in trolley, put in taxi, take out a taxi and then put away. I have a Tesco anytime delivery pass that costs £6.99 a month and you can have a delivery every day if you want! I usually have a delivery every 7/10 days.
There’s a lot of oldies in my road (me included) and a good majority of them have home deliveries. It’s quite usual to see Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Ocado, Waitrose and Asda making weekly deliveries.
Public transport in most places in this country is a joke. And if you factor in the ever-increasing number of potholes that they occasionally decide to fill in with quality materials like chewing gum and brown paper then driving's a joke too.We used to have 12 buses an hour starting at 6.15am and then a reduced service from 6pm to 9pm, with later start on Saturday and none on Sunday.
Now we get three a day Monday To Friday, no weekend service at all. Dependant on taxi’s to get to and from appointments.
