Forgot to report back on my initial 'cold sniff' of the WJ trio (French Lavender, Sicilian Orange, Bavarian Pretzel).

As others have noted, the Lavender one is as gorgeous as ever - I wish Yankee would discontinue their housewarmer version and make this their standard one, it's far superior. Sicilian Orange is a perfectly nice scent - can't say I'm ever overwhelmed by anything orange, either scent or flavour (other than the original orange Smarties before they got rid of the additives - they were lush) but can imagine it being subtly refreshing.

Now the Bavarian Pretzel is a whole different ballgame - I imagined it would be more like a sweet, enriched dough pretzel in scent but goodness me, no - it is a salty, doughy scent which fills the cupboard it's in. I'm in two minds as sometimes it smells a bit like 'old socks' but I think when it burns it will become a much richer, creamy scent...at least I hope so - I'll probably burn it with something like the remains of my Peppermint Bark as I think it will complement that quite cloying sweet scent.

The number of promos and the substantial reductions suggests to me that Yankee overreached themselves with the huge price hikes they have done in successive years. Those of us with a bit of an addiction are not made of money!

It's interesting that, in my experience anyway, up until the end of last year, QVC frequently had the best bargains out there. Yes, Yankee have themselves put prices up, but their shops are offering by far the best deals now. Q might still bring us some of the rarer fragrances but if you know what you like and it's more widely available, 9 times out of 10 you can get jars ridiculously cheap (well, compared to full price).
 
i dont collect so its a case of having candles i enjoy burning. mind you when theirs a sale on i buy more than if it were full price. stocked up on t lights i love them in the winter in the lounge soft scent and a lovely glow. i never pay full price for anything

I really love learning about new YCs but they don't always grab me at first. Even I, once a big foodie fan, am not overwhelmed by the sugary/cakey ones.

Hmmmm, these look a little tired to me - I love the sound of the apricot rose one and the fresh ones appeal to me, but otherwise same old, same old if you ask me :(

By the way, what's the deal on the labels now, does anyone know? The US Yankees all seem to have gone over to those taller, narrow labels with the new YC logo and I thought they said originally we would be getting the same in Europe. Around the same time, they also seemed to bring in a lot of other YC ranges on QVC, some with round or oval pictures, some with round pics on a square background, and it got quite confusing. So what was the outcome? Have they decided not to change the labels for the UK and Europe?

as far as i know its staying just as it is but those round & picture ones Q had were ex-usa outlet ones

Thanks. I think I'm right that originally they said we would be getting the new logo at least, so they must have either delayed the changeover or changed their minds completely?

Those USA Pumpkin specials work out at over £20 each inc postage. Wowzers! I'm sure they are lovely for Autumn but blimey that's too pricey for me! Not that I am getting more large jars as I still have two ADs to come this year and last year's mountain of Portrait collections to burn. But at that price I think I would rather buy from somewhere with next day delivery etc. However, I wonder what price the WJ ones will be...... I am just coming to the end of my SA Vineyard jar....

OOPS JUST SEEN SCW SAYS PRICE WILL DROP so not as bad as I thought.
