I appreciate I don’t live either the lifestyle or in the same climatic zone as dear Holly W etc but I don’t understand why shops are full of thin summer dresses.
Yes you get the odd mild day but they are few and far between to start buying them now. There was one on Q for £70 nice but very summery I would expect to be buying this in a sale at the start of October.

What sort of a coat would you wear with a long summer dress when it’s blowing a gale as it is here this morning?

If you`ve seen Marks Tv advert and looked in some glossy magazines the latest trends in wearing all those ditsy floral cotton frocks through the colder months is to top them with baggy sweatshirts, huge baggy cardigans, quilted gilets and to wear big clumpy doc marten style ankle boots. It`s a fashion I won`t be keen to follow and my light weight dresses will soon be packed away for another year. Looking like an escapee from an American Goodwill store isn`t my style.

They had her in a Monsoon dress for the Lola Rose hour last night and God love her, she looked absolutely atrocious.
A simple top or dress in a block colour was required instead it was a busy pattern that did nothing for her or the jewellery. What a shambles.

One of the very tall thin models was wearing it this morning and it looked lovely from what I could see as it was styled with a green long blazer draped around her shoulders.

Anyone on here wear clumpy Doc Marten's ? .......... and with a floaty frock ? Its the same with all the colour supplements at the weekend. Miserable models leaning against a tree wearing Doc Martens, ditzy frock, woolly scarf and cowboy hat . Now a) the age group they're aiming at do not read weekend newspapers, and b) like QVC, refuse to admit that they're audience/readership is probably over 45 at a push and wouldn't want to dress like those models.

I saw that. They dressed her in a brightly coloured patterned outfit, so the various LR necklaces she modelled were ‘lost’ against the fabric. Is it too much to expect models to wear a neutral block colour as a background for jewellery ?
