I just don't know why Jilly, with all her years of being a presenter on QVC, is still relying on the old 'you're loving this' and 'you will love this at home' constantly? I know, I know, I've posted about this before but it really does get my goat. She's just not a very good presenter now, too much repetition of phrases from her too. Every time the BA says 'this is a really nice material and the dress hangs well' (for example) Jilly always follows with 'it is' or 'it does' She gets on my blinking nerves, I find her so boring & I almost count how many times she comes up with these repetitive phrases while watching.

I am just the same for picking up on repeated phrases and habits of anyone on tv or radio and once I’ve picked up on it, I find myself waiting for the next time, so I am not following what they are actually saying. They really need to be told to stop it!

I don’t have a particular view of Jilly simply because I so rarely watch any of them but I know what you mean about the “it really does” affirmations of co-presenters’ comments (I can actually hear her in my head saying it now!).

Haven't seen Jilly on for a while but I find her watchable, she's a nice lady. She's been at Q for such a long time maybe she's just bored with the whole thing and just doing it now and then to pay for the annual holiday/new car. I'm not watching as much now either, I'm probably bored with it too

The products often sell themselves and don't need two people pushing them. Jilly seems nice enough, but she's stopped making an effort. She's just putting in her minimum, skating towards retirement.

Just lazy presenting. Probably much easier to just keep repeating what the BA has said, or simply replying in the affirmative rather than wrack your brains to think of something else to say about a dress that looks like it's made from Granny's curtain fabric, circa 1945. Some of them are worse for this repetition/agreement than others. Charlie Brooke, I'm looking at you...

I'd rather not look at Charlie Brooke but I understand what you're saying! Debbie Flint doesn't use worn out phrases and neither does Jill Frank, but they're practically the only ones.

Back in the old days when I worked up the chimneys, the staff presenters actually did the presenting. Guests who came in were the designers / manufacturers themselves of the items shown and/or real experts in their field. "Brand Ambassadors" are a relatively new breed and serve only to make the staff presenters surplus to requirements, hence the trite comments. Some brand ambassadors do a good job, but not all of them unfortunately.

It’s true about Jilly and she’s always been that way but somehow I feel able to cut her some slack. She’s so pleasant and unassuming I don’t mind. Yesterday she was showing jewellery and her nails were cracked and a bit grubby. No excuse for that when the dressing rooms must be bursting with products but there are so many others who really drive me nuts.

I'd rate her 6/10 on the scale of good presenters. I don't know all of them, however.

I find Jilly watchable. She's not overbearing or aggressively pushing sales. She's guilty of over-using phrases as they all are. She does it in a 'nicer' way, though.

Flinty on the other hand is very pushy. The way she looks at the camera while telling viewers they 'need' an item or 'get it now, get more than one' is creepy. I also feel it's unfairly pushing to the lonely viewers who look at her as a friend. I find her quite unlikeable.

Chloe always looks bored and raring to leave the set ASAP. She gives me the impression she listens to the voices in her ear then responds with an aggressive push.

Jill Franks seems engaged with some BAs/items but switches into auto sell mode when she's flogging stuff she wouldn't touch with a bargepole herself.

I could go on forever but would just like to thank the fast-forward function as I don't have to sit through waffle to get to items I'm interested in. I record those shows and if I buy I have proof that presenters who lie to sell (Flinty, I'm looking at you in particular), BAs who lie by omission (Lee H could win awards for this) or QVC on the whole for sending out stuff that doesn't look anything like the on-screen presentation so I can return for free and get outward P&P refunded.

I disagree, I think she is pushy, but in a subtle way but once you notice it, its really obvious.

Yes, Jilly gives the impression of being the friendly and unassuming next door neighbour type, but in her own way, she is pressing hard for sales. According to her, the item is always selling out fast. (Very often it isn't and you'll see it still there 24 hours later.) She seems to be quite tired these days. Fed up with her job, maybe?

The thing I remember clearly about Jilly, was when she was pregnant. A guest or other presenter on with her said about taking a break to enjoy the new baby. Jilly was having none of that, and she was coming straight back to work. All these years later, I still remember how driven she was to get back to QVC and her job.

Loved her job back then, but maybe she needed the money as well
