The last few occasions I've tuned in - not that much in the past few days, the on air presentations have been like playtime at school !

Far from being seriously presenting the items and giving us size or descriptions, we are faced with Chloe gate crashing the shows of her colleagues, Kabler going off piste more than usual, and Chuntley regaling us with tales of her 'ditziness'.

There is more life tales gossip and sodding about than ever before, even Charlie had trouble stifling giggles from the Gallery chit chat in his ear.

Clearly they don't get overhauled about their on-air behaviour, but its getting more and more childish. I suppose the product doesn't matter, as long as they tell us how to order and the 30dmbg then management obviously couldn't care less.

When I first discovered Q I watched everything, then dropped the beauty as I can’t chance anything reacting with ultra sensitive skin.

After badly fitted clothes they were dropped too leaving jewellery, handbags and DIY (for Mr L), then DIY disappeared so that went too.

Bags eventually whittled down to nothing and good quality jewellery was gradually replaced albeit I still enjoyed some of the costume jewellery.

At this stage I looked at the listings every evening to see if there was anything to interest me. This coincided with new presenters and twatter/iPads so even those I was interested in became unbearable so were watched on mute.

Now I only catch bits when I’m sitting with a cup of coffee and it’s a choice between Love island type TV or Q!

I really can’t believe that all the original viewers who bought weekly have been replaced by new customers buying with the same frequency.

Do you think that if they culled the presenters shenanigans, offered unusual items and stopped the groundhog mentality programmes we would come back as customers or have we all moved on?
 
I haven't watched live for about 2 years. I just check their website to see if there is anything of interest to me (tools and gadgets) then watch the videos online.


And of course, I read this forum.
 
I am an old timer with QVC about 15 years ago was into buying everything from jewellery, bags, beauty, household but rarely clothes and being really pleased with my purchases.Now I start watching sometimes thinking I am going to be wowed again by something new and interesting, but no, instead I switch off in a couple of minutes.I resist pretty much everything now and even when I do order am likely to return.Guess I have just moved on and order from other sources with free P&P/ returns who deliver in a short time scale. I do not want to pay around £10 to try something but the only plus with Q I can return beauty which I have used as I did with Perricone, wanted to try & did not like ( still I paid those costs!)
 
Not just verbal antics!

I agree with all that has been said, but the worst for me is how Alison Young is sometimes with the beauty guests, now I know that 'apparently' it is all 'good fun' and that they are 'use to her', but for the viewer sometimes not only is it very 'cringe-worthy', but also she has on many occasions (especially with Keeley), aired what could be perceived as 'dirty washing', which is not what we as the viewer needs to know. We are watching to possibly buy, we don't need 'school-playground' antics.
Most are culprits even people who are normally the 'epitome' of poise and professionalism such as Ann Dawson and Alex Kramer have had 'their moments'.

No, whilst I know we are becoming a more 'free and easy' nature it has to stop.

The worst thing today, the attire Mr Plant geek himself was wearing 'on-air', not a good look by any stretch of the imagination!

I can identify with everything you've written. I did buy a dress last week that I saw when channel hopping, however, the days of planning to watch a presentation, or even browsing, are gone never to return. A quarter of a century ago QVC offered something new, time & retail have moved on & even though I'll probably still make the occasional purchase I've become an 'irregular' customer.

I find it beyond belief that someone doesn't stop that immature 40 year old doing that. How rude.
 
Exactly, but even 25 years old the old 'bone of contention' of return postage, was still free from catalogue companies and still today Q are charging and not only that they have 'apparently' upped the weight limit to what you as the customer returns to 15KG, now can you imagine how much that would be to post back.
No with the likes of the 'digital river', and practically every other online site offering free returns I too am surprised that they have lasted thus far.
Thing to note though is that QVC America (yes I am that sad), allows people to pay with paypal, now with paypal, they offer you five times during the year to pay for return postage, I wonder if that is why QVC UK don't offer it?!
 
It`s like a train crash waiting to happen. Unruly presenters, mayhem on air, poor quality items, high prices, shocking delivery costs and an archaic website. Younger generations have been born with an ipad or similar in their hands and can navigate the internet like pros and so I can`t possibly see QVC surviving much longer especially in the UK.
My daughter in law and my other 2 sons partners have never even heard of QVC let alone shopped with them and they`re all in their 30`s so I reckon those in their late teens or in their 20`s aren`t going to touch them with a bargepole.
I know Q have their sychophantic diehard followers but from what I see on facebook and places such as trustpilot I think they`re also becoming fewer by the day.
QVC needs to take itself in hand and totally revamp if they are to survive in the future.

This is the irony. At their age they should be in touch with the younger generation and what they want and make sure they sell that, not just fuddy-duddy clothing and dozens of slightly different vacuum cleaners. They should also be on top of the technical side, making sure the website is up-to-date and informative, etc. They should be telling the presenters that nobody under 40 wants to hear about a presenter's flash wedding that they couldn't afford themselves, or their latest 1970s-style soft **** book. But it's like they ignore their own peers and instead concentrate on QVC's "traditional customer base" who, sadly, are literally dying off!

Take the beauty and it’s 30dmbg away and no matter what they did it’s had its day, that and interest free payments are all that is keeping it alive.
 
I have two nieces, one late 20's, the other early 30's, they both grew up with me loving QVC - I even have a home video of me messing with them changing channels from Nickleodeon to QVC when they were teens. They are now both in love with Elemis, tart burning and painting their long nails...defininetly my influence as my sis has no interest in any of them. They are aware of QVC as I sometimes send them links to good TSV's but have NEVER purchased from them and I asked why...they said, the prices are just too high and they don't want some of the items so pointless, they internet shop elsewhere for better bargains. If thats what QVC means to them them so I'm sure it's worse for the latest generation. Now I'm like Stratobuddy, never watch live and sometime look at the website and read here.

This is a brilliant idea from them. I used Paypal to buy a couple of jackets from Lakeland Leather's website, which were lovely but both had to go back because of size issues. Thanks to Paypal, I saved £22 in postage charges, as they had to be sent back Special Delivery. Imagine QVC being that helpful to customers? Not a chance. Instead, "Meehal" (Sorry, I forgot how to spell his name!) is encouraging us to buy one of every colour without a single mention that it would be 5 times the £3.95 delivery charge. Nearly £20 in postage - it's like something from the dark ages of retail.
 
I dont know what has happened to the presenters these days. I saw a bit of Chloe this morning on the style channel and had to switch off. She was joking about and I thought she was very unprofessional. She clearly wouldnt wear anything that QVC sells and often wears her own clothes. Surely if you are trying to sell something you should bite the bullet and wear a sample. Alex is too shouty. Ali K is becoming insincere which is a shame because I used to like her. Chuntley, well what can I say that hasn't already been said.

I think they should all go on a customer service course because the majority of them have gone feral.
 
To be honest I think the powers that be don’t care how the presenters act just so long as there is someone there to front the hour, because I think they acknowledge that 99.9% of us are not the slightest bit influenced by what a presenter says or does, or which one of their friends love and buy the products. It’s like Ideal World, I buy a lot but never watch. I’m watching QVC less and less as the products bore the backside off me and the presenters irritate me they’re all so immature, rude, vain, narcissistic and generally come across as not very nice people.
 
It’s as if the lunatics have taken over the asylum. I’ll bet there is no difference in the mind set of the people making the decisions right down to the bottom rung and everyone in between.
 
Two years ago their turnover was £485M, I'd imagine it's now £500M+. They're oblivious to the immature antics of Ms Everton, the falsehoods pedalled by Ms Horne or the add-on sales of B&B owners/delusional writers/elderly brides & professional grandmothers.
