I just don't understand the hype ...

Help Support ShoppingTelly:

I had a look a the dreaded Fly Flots once and just couldn't get over the plasticky faux wood look wedges and hideous stitching...comfortable,probably but totally without style imho!
I don't get anyone buying a fake fringe off the telly or a pack of pies/sausages!

I don't get most of what's sold on QVC!

I hear what you're saying but I think we have to consider those people who are housebound or find it extremely difficult to get out to the shops in which case they see a variety of products from the comfort of their own home. We also have to bear in mind that, despite the general opinion, there are still many who don't own a computer or maybe have no interest in modern technology so aren't in a position to browse the internet to do comparisons, etc. Thankfully, I don't fall into this category but I think the shopping channels in general offer a great service to those less fortunate than ourselves.

I wholehearted agree BL. I was speaking from a totally personal viewpoint.

I agree and also I find it good that you can watch a presentation of a product which shows you how to use it and what can be done with it. Even if you don't then buy that particular brand you know what is available and what to look for on one you might be buying. This is especially useful on electrical items. And also the make-up and nail demos - I have picked up loads of tips from watching the experts.

I buy online on amazon/eBay and from the QVC website too. In fact I order more as a result of the website than the on air presentations. However, were it not for those presentations I would not know about the website. There was once a time when I was more taken in by the selling on TV than U am now, but I still buy more from Q than anywhere else. Mainly beauty products, then handbags then Northern nights. I would love a psychologist to explain the "pull" to me!
