I was thinking the same! Gawd, is there nothing that woman won't do or endorse? Fine role model she (and her ex-hubbie, for that matter) is - the last person to encourage me to buy something; little or no credibility and seemingly only talented at freeloading.:mysmilie_460:
Prince Philip must be hyperventilating with exasperation. :mysmilie_51:

Fergie's ability to attract and squander more opportunities in life than the rest of us can dream of is incredible and longer-lived than her time as a royal.

It's clearly a long-standing problem for her that money runs into her hands and then straight back out again.

While I could sympathise initially with her ending up in a predicament - the fact that it keeps happening shows that nothing has been learned from experience after experience. That exhausts the fount of sympathy I can find, I'm sorry to say. If I was in that situation, I wouldn't have any sympathy for myself either. I'd try to learn from my mistakes and if necessary go for counselling (eg: debt counselling, coaching in money management) to find a better way.

Lucky her that despite this track record, further opportunities come her way. I hope on one of these occasions she will finally learn how to hold onto money. I suspect that part of it is learning to live within her means, and also learning how to budget properly.

brissles, the difference is that Katherine, Duchess of Kent has dignity, whereas the other one seems to have none....Katherine is one lovely lady, as anyone who has met her will testify. How can anyone possibly feel sorry for someone who is usually the architect of her own misfortunes or at least 50% to blame? OK, the Royals are not the easiest family to marry into, we know that, but she knew exactly what she was letting herself in for, her family had been close to the royals since before she was born (her Dad, the Major, was their polo manager and the 2 families knew each other well). She was a lot older than Diana was when she married and had not exactly led a sheltered life as far as previous relationships were concerned. She liked the idea of being royal, had a huge payout after she got fed-up, and squandered most of it - but I notice the papers have reported she and her ex have apparently spent millions on a ski lodge! If true, I wonder where the millions came from?? As to her daughters, time they earned their own living, isn't it - they are 27 and 25, for goodness sake.

She'll never re-marry because of the kudos and money earner that the title Duchess brings. Being plain Sarah Windsor wouldn't suit.

She would do well to take a leaf out of the only Royal I admire - Katherine, Duchess of Kent, who relinquished the Royal Highness bit, and has led a quiet and dignified life outside of the royal confines - teaching the piano to children. A truly lovely lady.

Roseanne, this is something that's always puzzled me, too. Definitely more than meets the eye, in my view. A loose cannon, as they say...
Just guessing that she must have some sort of hold over someone or else why would she be bailed out repeatedly by the very people she humiliated and who despise her - allegedly.
