You can book some great trips to the canyon from Vegas but shop around. I did a flight out to the canyon in a light aircraft, flew over the dam and desert and then a helicopter flight through the canyon, then sailing part way down the river at the base of the canyon and finishing off with a meal. It`s very commercialised, lots of Native American Indians charging $10 to have your pic taken with them or selling gift tat and the meal was in a kind of huge cafeteria but the whole day was great fun apart from the 5am start. We were waiting for our raft to sail us down the river and many of the loos are portaloos and not very nice either. They`re steel construction and the doors warp with the heat and I had to ask a complete stranger to hold the door shut for me lol. The canyon is magnificent though. Sadly i didn`t get the opportunity to do the glass skywalk. I daresay since I visited ( 6 years ago ) things will have changed.
