It’s just occurred to me that Christmas is giving time and everybody behaves so wonderfully warm and smiley on that program. I know it’s not them presenters that sort these charities out but the powers that be behind the scenes. It just seems fitting to have some sort of charity at Christmas from a shop on TV that has been around for quite a few years and might quite a bit of money I would think

QVC used to be very high profile in raising money for breast cancer, but that seemed to stop some years ago, in favour of some LGBQ (can never remember the correct letters, or order) helpline charity. I always give to a local cat rescue, wouldn’t give to any of the big money making charities.

Ah, the story of BCC and why it split from QVC.

Are you sitting comfortable?

So every year they sold items at a great discount with the money going to BCC.

Then of course they did the auctions with extra special offers. One was tea with Tova at think it was the Ritz? Auction ended money raised all well, but it was found Debbie Flint was the one who bid and won. Now she did it as a gift for her bestie Sharon. But, employees are never allowed to enter competitions etc against the rules. So, the money had to be returned, all hell broke out on their Facebook page. The charity lost money from the auction. BCC decided to cut ties with QVC.

The other story is the Diamonique crown, but that is for Stratobuddy to tell.

We could do it ourselves? I had a request from the Salvation Army to donate £19 and Mr CC gives to Crisis/Shelter at Christmas. Maybe we could all donate some money if we can to spread some cheer. Dogs Trust is another one I usually give to.

QVC could give 50p from every order between now and Christmas Eve and that would raise quite a bit of cash.

I only give to our local hospice and our local homeless. If you give to the big charities most of it goes to the wages of those who run them.
I know this is a real concern atm .. we’ve given to dogs trust for years … we visited years ago and took our sponsor dog for a walk ( hundreds of others sponsored him too .. Henry Ramsey bless him 🌈 we also sponsor cats protection … we are resting soon and may have to chose one only ….i hope someone does A documentary about it all because I just worry that sometimes these things are bandered around and are doing the charities a lot of harm that’s my concern

I donate regularly to the Air Ambulance and have also named several charities in my Will.
Oh yes me too 🫶 they were scouting outside our local coop and not one person stopped
We just never know when we will need one ourselves or our loved ones .. I felt for thelads … air ambulance are amazing … we just assume this only happens to others but we just don’t know in life really do we?
We retire soon and will have to chose just to do one or two and they only way is from a hat I think 😔
