Does Peter Simon fake a posh accent?

Is it just me when he's reading autocue or generally does he try to speak in a posh accent? I get the impression he's got a pretty normal common northern accent and he's faking his accent for tv!

Can add this to his list of misdemeanours!

Long before my time but I have watched documentaries about her, she was terribly false and insincere.

Such a shame Bid TV wasn't around back then, she could have been their star turn!
