I personally don’t like the texture to start with, it looks a bit matted to me.

My thoughts exactly, but when you see biker boots worn with summer frocks, and skin tight leggings worn with stilettos, then nothing surprises me anymore, even if it does jarr my senses.

OK, everyone raise your eyebrows, I went for the burgundy one. Reason? No I wasn't drunk, no I wasn't wanting to look like a brick Xhouse. Our house is very cold in winter and I often wander around in a dressing gown on top of my clothes just for warmth. I thought this might be better. OK now I'll just look like I'm wandering around wearing a coat lol. However, I think this might be good for a quick chuck on for last dog walks or for hoofing up to the pub (100yds) rather than putting on a big coat. Yes, I think it will bobble and pill once you start washing it but we'll see. I think it will also be good for wearing in Asda because its ****** freezing in there, especially in the frozen food/fridges aisle. I'm with Jill Franks on that one!

My black one has already been dispatched and I’ve got tracking information from Hermes. Did the 10-14 day comment refer to the other colours or did I imagine what was said?

They did say 10-14 days, so if you get yours sooner let us know what its like.

I agree about the supermarket freezers. Too many times I've wandered in without a coat, and rushed around the freezers like Supermarket Sweep its so ****** cold. So I may look like Santa's wife in the red I've ordered, but at least I can be easily spotted if out with friends

As mine has already been dispatched and I’ve got the initial tracking from Hermes, I’m guessing it will be here in a few days. I’ll let you know when it arrives.

If I keep it and it does end up pilling I’m not too bothered as I’ve got a fantastic de-pilling “machine” (if that’s the right terminology) which has certainly resurrected some of my other clothes.

You don't have to justify your reasons for buying this to anyone, least of all us, & from what you've told us about your colouring you'll look fabulous in the burgundy. Being someone who is always too hot I got a flush just looking at it & the Q's styling suggestion to wear it under a coat was ridiculous.

For normal wear I would say this will be lovely and warm. I have one which I used to wear to visit a house where the heating was never on and to wear when it was cold but dry which has now been relegated to the garden where it is fab. Yes it has bobbled a bit but dont they all after a time.

It’s the way Q stylists would have you believe you could wear it to a red carpet event that gets on my chesticles .
