I love Gran Canaria (we always go to Puerto Rico and have been for the last 10 years). We are booked to go in October, mind you, I do go with my hubby and our two children so I don't think we will be visiting the sand dunes any time soon lol.

Not been on ST forum for a while and this thread has made me laugh - thank you burlybear :happy:

It is actually hard work to walk across the dunes in Playa des Ingles to the beach. I did it a few times and needed to rest half way in a shrubby oasis where the ground is much firmer. Walking in sand gets my calfs all stiff.

I had a spell of regular visits but not have been back to GC for over 15 years.
