Flipping Nora, they’re now showing at £314.98 special price. £329.98 is proper price. Whoopi Doo a reduction of 4.5%. They’re not even something special.
I’m misssing a trick here as the blue geraniums grow like weeks in my garden. I think I paid £10 for my three hebes and my heucheras are cuttings taken from my sister’s plants.

Salvia Amethyst Lips available locally at £5.99 or 3 for £11.98.

Even at the dearest of garden centres (like the one near me), you can get decent sized plants for around £8 a pot. Go to B&Q and you can get the likes of lupins and poppies on buy more save more deals. I really want to see this Dig brand on a garden show so they can explain just why their plants are 3 times the price of everyone else's. Maybe I've mis-read it and you get planters as well. I've got a lot of seeds on the go this year so hopefully I won't have to buy too many extras.

You don't get the planters???

No! Until today I thought that they were pitching wooden planters of various sizes chock full of beautiful plants that you can pop straight onto a patio or a back yard to cheer it up. No, you need to have a garden with flower beds or a least your own large planter for which you'll need to fill with soil (not supplied) then plant the flowers into the ground or the planter yourself - and pay £300+ for the pleasure. I really don't think so!

Me neither they are overly expensive I will not be indulging.

I'm absolutely disgusted. There are going to be folk out there that will buy these bog standard cheap as chips plants for that eye watering disgusting price. Shame on you QVC!
All I can say is more fool them if they do. Hopefully people will see sense and realise what an absolute pi$$take this is. As I said earlier yes, many a QVC customer won't think twice on spending £300+ on a hairdryer or huge amounts of money on skincare products but we're talking about established brands here, not a pair of chancers who are coming in thinking they can charge what they bliddy well like. What makes it worse is that the product they're selling is comparable with something you can buy elsewhere for an absolute fraction of the price. A beautiful garden can be expensive as you like, you can pay ££££'s for landscaping but here we're talking about somebody or a team of people involved in planning, design and proper hard graft - big difference from having a box of plants plonked on your doorstep. Gardening advice is freely available on line or at the garden centre and does not require a bunch of money grabbing upstarts to fleece you in this manner. I'm sorry, but I am becoming obsessed here because these prices are obscene and I hate to say this, I actually hope that this venture falls flat on its face!

I totally agree with you Merryone. Surely this price can't be right?? I'm going to write to QVC , giving them prices of the same plants my garden centre sells them for and ask them how they can justify this ridiculous price. Actually I wouldn't be surprised if my garden centre ones aren't in better nick. I too hope non are sold. At least Dick Turpin wore a mask!

At least at the garden centre you can see what you are buying. I have bought a lot of plants from QVC over the years (and other places online) and I can tell you they often arrive in a sorry state. Also many of the smaller plants just die, despite my best efforts. You could end up chucking away £300+ here. I have to applaud YouGarden who replace plants no problem if you receive poor quality.

My eyebrows raised a bit when I saw that Sara Davies is involved in this Dig company. She certainly knows how to make money

I wonder how it'll work with the 60 day mbg. Plant your plants, decided you've been ripped off royally then dig 'em all up and send them back! Seriously though if they were offering planters full of plants ready to place in the garden, patio or yard, what a good idea. I know a fair few people who have gardens with grass but flower beds not so much. As much as I think they look lovely they don't seem to be the way to go anymore. I will be interested however to see the live demonstrations when they have to explain in full technicolour that you need a garden with flowerbeds or the cost of a good sized planter is on you and explain with a straight face that they'll send you some plants to put in the ground for £329 or whatever silly price they're asking

I live on the South Coast and these plants would thrive here as it rarely goes below freezing. No mention that I could see if they’d be hardy in more northerly climes or f they’d need protecting in the winter. If they came planted in nice troughs/pots they may well be worth the money.

Tried to put the cost in perspective of what it could buy me. For me 6 weeks groceries or 2.5 months fuel bills or 8 bottles of Shay & Blue perfumes, at least 10 pieces of Diamonique Silver Jewellery or a Ninja air fryer (with change)

Those blue geraniums spread like weeds, I'm forever ripping them out! The heucheras are probably 5 or 6 quid depending on size of plant, but they are really easy to split and get more plants for free. Hebes are really cheap, and so is the salvia. Total rip off.
