Christmas shows all day tomorrow
I suppose they will be trying to get rid of all the
crap from the last few years with the odd new
item here and there.
Is it just me or is QVC adding more and more
christmas days each year?

I can't say I have noticed any more than they normally do.

As far as I know they've always had Christmas in July and then a day of Christmas on the 25th of each month up to December.

I'ts ridiculous there are advent calendars and selection boxs in my local shops, even people who like Christmas must get sick of it before it's actualy here.

My suggestion is we not cut the beating around the bush and declare every day Christmas shopping day, with the exception of 25th December which, of course, should be devoted to the purchase of Easter eggs...

Great idea there Snuffles. I think you could be on to a winner.:D

I used to love Christmas but to me it's not special, IMHO, anymore. I'm not a religious person but it's just become a high pressure commercialised event. Last year I bought Oxfam Unwrapped http://www.oxfam.org.uk/shop/Hub.aspx?catalog=Unwrapped&category=UWGifts presents as I was so sick of it. If you love Christmas...keep it special, don't give into this commercialised clap trap. Paradoxically, still love QVC, though. Go figure

awwww I love Christmas, everywhere sparkles and glitters, it all looks so magical.

I love to buy and wrap Christmas Pressies too.

I do think they should keep the shops clear till 1st December at least.

What I do is, I buy presents all year round and put them away for christmas, that way I am not to stressed in December. I don't pick presents for specific people, I just buy nice things and toys then choose nearer the time who they are going too.

I love christmas so much and get sooooooo excited by it.

OH its nearly here already, I cannot wait. :32:

just wanted to say the title of this thread is brilliant and made me laugh out loud. the only thing is, "christmas" could often be substituted for a host of different words, depending on what qvc is focusing on any particular day...it is really odd, but i am starting to get really turned off by qvc's lack of integrity and the fact that they are flogging more and more rubbish...am i getting wiser or are they getting worse? hope it is the latter because otherwise i have shown a considerable lack of scrutiny over the years...although i suspect that is actually the case...oh dear...

As an atheist I've opted out of xmas and now me and the kids celebrate Saturnalia which is legitmately about feasting and excess. I don't mind having a mid winter festival but I really hate all the tack that gets churned out and I get quite unreasonably angry at seeing xmas stuff in the shops in September.

Oh yeah, QVC...well i suppose they're in the business of selling so it would be madness to ignore it but some of the products are vile.

That's the way businesses would like it I'm sure!!

And oh dear, just a mere 90 days to go too :D

90 days is to long for me, I need it to be here now.

GOORRRRDD I am a big kid, might put my deccies up tommorrow lol. I get soooooooooooooo excited at the mere thought of Christmas.

I guess there is no hope for the Childish eh???? :D

I love Christmas but when I saw the selection boxes in a supermarket a couple of weeks ago my heart sank. Please can we have Christmas in December like it used to be as it was so much more exciting, I agree with those who dislike the commercialism of it these days and all the crap associated with it a lot of which is on QVC today.

Its one day of over eating, family arguments, putting up with relatives you never see all year and the whole meaning has been lost in a sea of materialistic greed.

I think the secret to looking forward to Christmas is not to do anything at all that you don't want to do on Christmas Day, or Christmas Eve or Boxing Day for that matter. Sounds a bit selfish, but I don't think any of my relatives' days would be made better by having a grumpy me about! My boyfriend & I see all the family running up to Christmas then have the festive period for just the two of us opening presents, watching films & eating stuff. No travelling, no stress & no arguments! I strongly recommend it.

That & buying Christmas pressies all year round to spread the cost & avoid Christmas shopping make for a lovely festive season.

I'm afraid I'm already looking forward to it!:4: (Why can't I find a Santa smiley?!)

Have to agree with you there.

Thing is, in a way I have driven up what family spend on each other because I am good at finding bargains and the family think I have spent more than I have. If they spend the same money, I end up with wall to wall carp, spending vouchers are so much better.
