So hadn't seen Carmel in several months so thought that the bosses had seen sense and gotten rid of her, then when flicking through the channels yesterday, I saw that she was on during some fashion hour. I thought I would do my old trick of seeing how long it takes this one dimensional, boring, dullard to mention her wedding; well after only three minutes she mentioned she went on her honeymoon to Africa. It was bad enough pre-wedding when it was all that she would constantly bring up when she was presenting, now she is married she is still going on and talking about it. Have you got so little going on in your life that you have no other subject matter to talk about?

i don't follow her just checked out her page and she's even dull on twitter just mostly tweets about what time she's on still helpful to know when to turn off

Carmel's mother was very unwell during most of last year and passed away little over a month ago. I would imagine her obsession with her wedding was - and still is - a way of not letting the worries of her mother's illness and death consume her completely, as it would me if I was in such a situation.

awwww didn't know that how awful for her bet her wedding was a hard day without her mum :(

She is definitely not one of my favourite presenters, but one has to feel sympathy for what she has recently endured; I know I would feel my life was over if anything happened to my mum. Hopefully, both Carmel and her family will have a more positive 2012. I'm sure work is not her main priority right now, but it does help take one's mind off one's concerns.

My condolences to Carmel. I too am not keen on her asI never think her hair looks tidy & a poor advert for the products QVC flog but she must be quite low at the moment from loosing her Mum. At least she has her new husband to lean on.

my mums been gravely ill. sorry to hear about her loss. i dont even want to think abut life without my beautifull mum...

I think Carmel is better than Anna Cookson, thats not saying a lot but AC is just not improving with being a presenter,I have to switch off when she is on.

she is not a favourite of mine but this is really sad news, poor Carmel, it leaves a shocking void when you lose your mum.

You just never know what is going on 'behind the scenes', that's why I tend to not be critical on a personal level or cynical as life's not easy for most of us. Sympathies to Carmel, I like her, she is cheerful enough and comes across as being nice, nice being very under rated in my opinion.

Saying things like 'thought her bosses had seen sense and gotten rid of her' helps no one. Everyone needs to earn a living and when I read so many comments about who hates who and why they need to remember this is someones living. I don't want to support another out job of person, job-seeker.

I'm "nice" but I'd be useless as a Q presenter, not because I'd 'um' & 'ah' but because I can talk for Wales. I can be like a gatling gun - so much to say, so little time to say it - which I imagine could be irritating (can't really see it myself, but there you go).
What matters is if a person is fit for the job.

I always feel very sorry for people in the public eye who have to go through their very sad times in front of everyone. Carmel is not one of my favourite presenters but atm my heart goes out to her...

It's like last week Elemis TSV, I thought AY seemed very quiet and off form and the next minute Dale is taking over because she wasn't well. We really do not know what's going on 'off screen' and you will always take to some presenters and not others, that's human.

Yes , but that is their JOB !

I'm a nurse, and can't go in and work below my best!
The speciality that I work in , is an extremely acute area ,and, the patients would quite bluntly die, if I didn't perform to my optimum!

QVC is hardly on a par is it?

her mother aside, obviously getting married is going to be a huge event in anyone's life and a very exciting time for the people concerned BUT that doesn't mean it's interesting to anyone else, so to use any excuse to link to it and harp on about it, is boring and unprofessional.

i really don't see why it is so hard to talk about the actual product!!

Carmel has written very touchingly about her mother's passing on her latest blog.Perhaps we could cut her a bit of slack?

I don't mind the girl. She's a bit repetitive but she's relatively new. But I don't dislike any of the presenters. And losing your mum is tough however old you are and whatever your job. I have heard her saying things like her mum would like this or that ... I doubt she will be saying that for a while.

I have been a bit mean about Tova in one of my posts, but as presenters go I don't dislike any of them personally- why? Because I don't know any of them personally. I like to think we can all be perfect and follow the saying "if you have nothing nice to say then don't say anything at all." However, we are not all perfect and want to have a bit of a rant about things that get on our nerves. People on the TV expect to be liked or disliked as everybody has different taste. There are celebs you like and some you can't stand. However there is a line to be drawn. Nobody should wish another person ill, such as losing their job, unless they have done something negligent or bad that has caused harm to another. Just because the image or presenting style, accent, fashion sense or weight is not to someone's taste does not justify being really nasty. By all means say if you find something irritating or annoying if that helps get it off your chest but draw the line on nastiness, bitchiness and malevolence. What goes around comes around.

I think that is exactly it, your job is important.
