Here's a thought (coo-ee Dermot's forum reader this is for you) following the event and a few days afterward when they might sell a few more units, why don't Q list the remaining stock on their ebay site with 100% charity donation to BCC (which is easy to do ebay makes it very easy to list items and will automatically transfer the % after an item is sold, they'll even claim back the GiftAid). This stuff that has been available for 2 or 3 years probably isn't going get airtime on the night, appears on the website for a couple of days a year before it's whisked away from view. The Kukui "jewellery"....it's not sold in 4+ years, what are QVC waiting for?
OK so the vendors who donated the item may have stipulated that QVC can't dump things in Last Clicks so by listing them on ebay with a clearly visible donation QVC are still honouring the spirit in which the items were originally donated. They might even sell a few things (especially if they upload a photo).
Also can we step away from the colour pink, so it isn't always collagen gel from SBC, pink nail varnish etc. I completely understand the significance but can we please have a few different ranges. They tried to sell pink daffodils one year which were pants, and a pink easiyo doofer (making a re-appearance this year it seems), but at least they came from departments other than the usual beauty and jewellery?
And while I'm on my soap box the OPI website is flogging the crackle polishes as £2 each so adding one to the OPI BCC set isn't a huge sacrifice from them.
I'm not feeling excited at all this year, but I know I'll be moved to tears when I hear some of the survivors' stories and especially if there are tributes to Amica. I'll watch but there's nothing that I need so I'll probably just make a direct donation. I really miss the crazy atmosphere on here in previous years; people posting that the had XYZ in their basket but would by letting go of X in the next few seconds in case anyone else wanted to grab it. The frustration of the website crashing which one year lead to me ordering 2 identical Kipling bags ( with 2 full lots of postage too!).
As always Love and Strength to anyone on here dealing with breast cancer in their own families xx
