One of the strategies that shopping channels employ to attract customers is to showcase well-known brands of jewellery. Gemporia is no exception, as they use these big names to dazzle and entice you into buying their jewellery. They claim that their products are of high quality and value, but are they really worth it?

In a word: no.

If you want to buy gems and jewellery as an investment, I would get expert advice from proven experts, and do a lot of research into what you can get for your money.

Buying heavily treated material set into gold tone tat sold with any number of lies, misinformation and ruses from dodgy characters on the telly will just guarantee that you lose money

Yeah I totally agree with you

Value for money sells quickly. People can spot when they're getting a good buy.

The fact that Gemporia have to put a 'gem expert' on screen, waffling about something for 30 minutes to convince people to part with their money, alongside a presenter that is already GIA AJP accredited, says it all.

Why do you need a gem expert on screen to waffle on for up to an hour when the presenters are supposedly GIA accredited? And also allegedly a certified diamond grader in foghorn Hattie's case?

We know why it's being done, but on the face of it it's overkill. The presenters are supposedly knowledgeable enough to explain what they are selling.

🤣

Exactly. 100% spot on.

Adina's flogging the extremely "last of" type A jadeite. This is allegedly the stuff Gems was going to stick in their museum

Lord knows why, as it's gold tone, and the "green" colour is yet again a murky snot colour.

It's not stopping Adina from comparing it to vivid green material sold for thousands elsewhere
