    Calico Cottage Fudge TSV 25/08/14

The Fudge Kitchen, the best IMHO. There's one not too far from me and I might just treat myself next time I go in - haven't had any for AGES

    julia - weight loss

I've always struggled with weight to some degree. I lost a lot in my early 20s but have had fatter/thinner periods since although I have never been larger than a size 12. I'm short and would say I was hourglass shape. I used to smile if anyone mentioned 'middle-aged spread' and thought it must...

    Liz Earle TSV - 27/07/14

After humming and haaaing, I did order it - it's the first thing I've bought for about 9 months. I've tried most of the stuff before and like it, but part of it is for my sister's birthday, it's her favourite brand.

    It's nice to dream...

I must be 'odd' because jewellery does nothing for me, especially rings. I hate wearing them and don't even wear my wedding band any more. I quite like silver stuff if it's understated but generally buy costume jewellery if I want something a bit different (rarely buy anything now). My lottery...

    Alison Young's Front Teeth???

I agree that a presenter should look well turned out when on TV. However teeth can be awkward beggars. Having just spent hours, and a fortune, at the dentist in the last few weeks, and being in so much pain at one stage that I would have taken ANYTHING if offered, I can sympathise if she does...

Why is Q so fond of 'embellishments'?

Oh how I agree with all of the above. I'm always looking for good quality, plain long-sleeved tops/t-shirts or a print top that is a little different but doesn't look like a flower show tent or granny's curtains. I don't like embellishment as I like to add scarves or jewellery. I've always hated...

    Cleansers

I recently bought Nutriganics Foaming Wash from the Body Shop and it's nice, not wildly keen on the smell but it's gentle and effective. Next time I'll try the Pomegranate one as that is for more mature skin :sun:

    Ali Young

I went to House of Colour and the consultant was excellent.

    Ali Young

I had my colours 'done' about 3 years ago and wish I'd done it yonks ago! Even though I inclined towards my 'best' colours, I also bought those which didn't suit me. Now I have a smaller wardrobe but things go together much better. I can now avoid whole racks of stuff because they are not in my...

    Bibi Bijoux TSV 7/2/14

Some of it looks OK - but it's all a bit 'recycled new-agey, biker chic, trailer trash'. The orange-y lady presenter puts me right off and it's way overpriced.

    Cleansers

This thread is very topical for me :sun: My skin has been throwing a wobbly just lately, dry and bumpy/itchy at times. I have used a Nivea cream cleanser of some sort since I was a teenager and have never had any problem with the brand, although they have stopped doing the dry/sensitive one...

    Yankee Candle Super Bargain Price

They're probably made from all the little offcuts and bits swept up from the Yankee factory floor, all munged together.

    Aqua manda is back

I remember Aqua Manda - very 70's packaging! And Kiku by Faberge - I thought it the height of sophistication when I got the talcum powder for Xmas once, in its round, yellow, tasseled container  I used to nick my sister's perfume - she liked Rive Gauche and Miss Dior at that time. Also...

Who else buys a lot less from QVC these days?

I never bought huge amounts, but now rarely shop with QVC. Same old same old mostly, dressed up as something new. Brands that were once hard to get elsewhere are now widely available, and usually cheaper. High p&p charges, delivery times not competitive with those firms charging less...

    Perricone - way overpriced!

If I was prepared to spend about £40 on a face cream (which I'm not, currently) I would have to ask myself, 'Is this one at nearly £400 10 times as good?' If it were, perhaps I would be tempted, but I know it won't be!

    Joe and Seph

It's 10 times the price, nearly, I doubt very much if it tastes 10 times nicer

    Jill Franks Hair!!!!

Zikes - my hair looks better than that first thing in the morning

The Lulu Guiness handbags are gorgeous - love the patent cherry red Franka

I don't like them either

What were YOU doing 20 years ago?

I had just started working for a company that would become very large, very quickly. I was still enjoying it at this point as it was a completely different culture from previous workplaces, and very dynamic. (I grew to hate it later and made some bad decisions but hey ho, 'tis all part of life's...

    Yankee TSV 26/8/13

These 'flavours' look quite nice, but I do wish they would sell the double-wick, straight-sided jars as I think they are superior. Do Yankee still make the double-wicked jars??
