"Oxymoron" definition example - QVC Presenters & Expertise.
At least they could have some knowledge of the items they are selling
Many of them come on air ill prepared and leave the details up to the BAs who sometimes don't have much of a clue either. There are exceptions, of course.

It looks like Will has seen this thread. He’s my favourite of the presenters and has a good sense of humour.

I agree, very easy to listen to and he asks all the right questions
And he always looks neat and tidy.
I agree with both. My favourite presenter. I keep forgetting about him until I catch him presenting an hour I've recorded. As soon as I see it's him I can stop fast-forwarding. No headache from screeching, no irritation as he's not rude to BAs and, as mentioned, he asks the right questions.

Will Gowing's voice is high pitched and he whines. I usually switch him off quickly. I really dislike him giving advice on women's clothes. I doubt he has any expertise in this area. He spouts out phrases he's picked up randomly. Get him off!!
And I've noticed that he likes the well worn (and disliked) "loving it" phrase too. Just waiting for him to spout about all the loads of genders. I think he was better before he became a full time presenter, he was more softly spoken and likeable.

I think the back-of-shop coaching staff must keep telling them to "love it" etc and to screech up a notch. It's affected some of the previously milder presenters like Jilly Halliday, and not in a good way, IMHO, very misguided and so out of touch with what approach actually does sell stuff. Go in too loud and hard and viewers will switch off eventually. I certainly don't like to be told what to do and buy. I make up my own mind.

I've got L'Occitane on at the moment with Dale and haven't heard him once say 'you're loving this' (yet, half an hour in) although I think he's also said it before in other shows, so I wonder why some constantly do and some don't. It's very refreshing although Dale isn't a favourite.
