Jade Troth is back

I'm sick of seeing him this birthday. He's been on more than ever! This has to be the worst birthday event on Gemporia ever. Last years was dull - but this years is far far worse.

It's not just us that are sick of him either. I now know of two different JM members of staff that are as sick of him and his Jadeite as us.

Dave and Jake are going to India next week - so we'll have a few days of peace at least.

I hope they both have a really dodgy curry and have the squits for a month.
No such luck will anyone be rid of them while they're in India - there will be countless film clips of the two of them, telling us how expensive everything is but how they are still buying only the best, we are so lucky that they are bringing back some 'wonderful surprises' for us, yada, yada, yada.

Honestly, if this is the best that Gemporia has to offer, then they are really in serious trouble

More bollocks. More crappy etsy rip offs. How is this black MOP from Australia if Tahitian? Or is it white pearl masquerading in grey resin? Whatever. You can get 100% Tahitian MOP bracelet for £99 in Australia. This is all a Birthday flop!

Are my eyes deceiving me or is this a bangle made of ? with small bits of mop stuck on. What was the closing price. Looks like something you’d get on a market stall for a few bob. The one on the right is much better.

Have to say this. IF you don't look at the enlarged photo, I was thinking as it's October, that second photo was a set of costume teeth :p

And, from the little I've seen of the channel with the sole Gem Specialist DT on 23 hours a day 7 days a week, I have been watching Gems TV on and off since 2016 as a purchaser and earlier as a 'watcher', and (I am getting there ;) ) this has to be, so far, the least entertaining 'birthday' month I've seen. That's putting it politely.

Its been grim every day. Dave Troth, Pearl and Jadeite galore.

If the Birthday carries on like this, they'll soon be having Gemporia's funeral.
Don’t know if anyone had the stamina to watch the blue amber showcase. Adina described the heat/ pressure / coated blue amber as a “miracle of nature” more like a miracle of technology. Anyway she genuinely had never seen such jammed telephone lines on items that were going to sell out. At the end of it they were ALL still available.

Do you know what time that was roughly please?

Gemporia have already had a warning from the ASA for that this year - and it was Adina that said it then too!

Yes it’s just over. By the way I see I pair of earrings has finally sold out. AND as usual she was comparing with real deal that sold for huge amounts.

Thank you. I'll report that to the ASA.

No doubt they'll get yet another warning, even though it should be further action this time around as they've been told about making that claim before

These still available and the prices?! 😨

I’d be more than interested into how they actually treated the stones rather than them being mentioned occasionally as a sideshow. They could emphasise that stones go through technological advanced processes to achieve the look. I’d rather that then them just glossing over the truth.

I absolutely agree. Not everyone is against every treatment although personally coating would be a no no for me don’t know much about pressure treatment and many stones are heat treated which I don’t mind as long as I’m not being charged for natural. For myself I ignore their sales patter and pay far more attention to the stone collectors on this site. So far I’ve got a semi black opal pendant and a very large morganite pendant which they seemed to like and which I love. They are really stunning.

They won't do that though, because that would mean that they'd have to sell them at 'treated stone' prices.

At the moment, they're selling treated stones for the prices you could get untreated stones elsewhere.
