When I had two cats, neither of them ever brought in any “livestock.” Most cats will pounce on spiders. Mine never did 🙄 so I had to deal with those myself.

However, I think one of them, a male called Tigger, was a kleptomaniac. Friends soon learned to close their bags when they came round because he’d stick his head inside an open bag and then race off with anything that he could get hold off. Cue my retrieving tissues, combs, pens etc. He also had a fascination with rubber bands and would bring in the ones that had been dropped in the street by the postman. It was a shame that he never decided to retrieve dropped bank notes. 🙄

The female cat, who was called Mowgli, had no such “hobby” thankfully.

I’ve popped a couple of photos of them below but apologies for the quality because, sadly, I lost both of them a few years ago. Tigger died of anaphylactic shock during an operation when he was about six years old. Mowgli lived until she was 18, but sadly had to be put to sleep as she developed severe kidney failure. We were lucky to have her for so long though because she was diagnosed with diabetes when she was 8.

I’d love another cat, or two, but it wouldn’t be fair on them because of my lifestyle now.

My boy Floki is obsessed with rubber bands! He sniffs the air like a Bisto Kid and can home in on them like an exocet!

They both pounce on spiders, flies and bees. They eat the first two.
