Okay, put this in the other section as well.

www.escentual.com

Are selling the L'Occitan Advent Calendar with 25% off. It was £68 before the discount, which is cheap considering what other brands are charging.

That sounds like a really good deal Donna if you like the calendars. I found the mini sizes a bit faffy in the one I bought some years ago but this one has more tubes of product which are easier to operate.

When I click on the link I just get an Oops message. Any idea what the TSV price is please?

It would really shock me if it was real Iris Pallida used in the perfume, synthetic. I have a few perfumes called that, and they are expensive, usually niche brands which use the real thing.

No, I do not own this. But it will give you an idea.

😮😮 A few years ago I was watching about perfumes and how expensive somewhere.
They were talking to one lady who wore Guerlain and her response was "they need to be expensive as one doesnt want one's cleaning lady wearing the same perfumes as oneself". It was a few years ago but that comment has always stuck with me.

Gawd laaa deeee daaaaa …. lol … obviously doesn’t go to the toilet etc as she’s too supperior lol

I wear quite a few Guerlains' the old classics. I admit, I roam eBay for deals. Adore Shalimar Parfum Initial, which was a flanker of the original Shalimar they discontinued far too quickly. It goes for massive on eBay, but if you are patient you can get a 90mls for around £70 without the box. I have a back-up of the last bottle I got. Then found out Guerlain released a tweaked version just called Initial and managed to get a new bottle again around £70.

Well I'm a cleaning lady and I wear L'Occitane Herbae, the green one, the pink one and the clary sage. So, if you don't want to be like me buy Chanel

I hate snobbiness. I was at the Duty Free at the airport and I was actually looking to buy some Chanel Allure for my friend. The counter woman was a cow and was too busy squirting samples on folk that had no intention of buying. I clearly didn't look like I had £100 to spend so she ignored me. Fine. I nipped over to the whisky counter and spent the money on a decent bottle of Laphroig 🥃 Cheers, snobby woman. You just lost a bit in commission.

Similar thing happened to me years ago. I went into Dorothy Perkins to buy my sister some clothes for her birthday. Saved up £25 which was a lot of money in those days. Looking through the rails I was approached by a snooty sales assistant, who said in a very loud voice, “We don’t stock anything in YOUR size”. ( think the biggest size they sold was size 16 and I was a size 22). This was in a shop full of customers.

Wasn’t going to let her get away with this. So my response in an even louder voice, so the other customers would hear, informed her that I knew this and she’d just lost £25 worth of sales. Turned round and walked out of the shop.

Candycane, I remember on one perfume forum a few different women in the US saying if you went into a department store to buy dressed casual the SA would ignore you. Here in Belfast in House of Fraser I know someone who works at the Creed counter, now their perfume is £££! But she has said I get people in tracksuits, worn trainers others pulling shopping trolleys even pushing prams, and they are spending very big money. Never judge how someone is dressed on how much money they have to spend.

Exactly. I went with a group to tour a country house some years ago, and there was a man in his 60's working in the gardens, understandably dressed in cloth cap and scruffy old togs for doing dirty work, down on his knees. Having a quick chat with him and some of the other gardeners around we quickly discovered he was the house owner (he didn't tell us, but he was a baronet, too)! Really nice man, happy to chat and just mucking in with the other gardeners doing the necessary. Never pre-judge.
