Autumn Fashion on the 'Catwalk'

'Catwalk,' indeed! What a flop and how dull the fashions. I couldn't help thinking how the first row at a catwalk during the Paris, London, or New York fashion week would react to QVC's effort. First they would be in shock, then burst out laughing, and after that, they'd walk out. This was no catwalk, but a feeble try to move some very frumpy merchandise.
 
There have been quite a few crimes against fashion committed by QVC over the years. Quacker Factory 😖 Would look great on someone overweight and living in Florida (I'm a size 16 myself, so I don't think I'm being too harsh there!) and don't get me started on Wynne Layers. Shapeless, frumpy, endlessly beige and just all round cheap and nasty looking. I used to love the Tiana B dress shows though.
 
I caught sight of the Flinty during a Sketchers presentation.She was wearing a dress blue with white flowers which I thought print OK but it was full length and very full making her a ‘ship in full sail.’If she went out and was caught by a very strong wind she will be in orbit now.( some may sigh at that thought!)
 
Whenever I see the presenters wearing these type of dresses, it always reminds me of Joyce Grenfell’s As Stately as a Galleon and John Masefield’s Sea Fever.

When you got fed up with te dress you could use as a windsurfing sail or a kite🪁🪁🤣

Miami colours don't go down well in cooler climates. And the slogans on Quacker's tee shirts were sickly sweet even if they had been on toddlers'clothes. I don't dislike Patrick, though. He tries very hard with any brand he's presenting. Many of Ben di Lisi's fashions are great and he shows up to talk about them. So does Ruth. Kim never comes or videos in.. Marla is long gone, I think, and although the BA often mentions Marla, she must be referring to the brand name, not the woman. There's a reason they don't check in and it has nothing to do with polluting the environment with aircraft fumes.

I've always thought Patrick was a top presenter. Not seen him for a long time.

Quite - I don't think Anna Wintour is kicking herself for having missed it.

This is what annoys me about QVC though: their obsession with 'fashion forward pieces' and designers and being completely up-to-the-minute. Surely most people who actually watch QVC and spend money there want clothes which aren't frumpy, but which don't look like you've been in your daughter's wardrobe at reasonable prices - and that they wash well and wear well. Maybe that marks me out as a certain age, but I don't want Aisling shrieking on about how this 'piece' reminds her of Max Mara or Stella McCartney, stupid pretentious fashion victim that she is.

She is ridiculous when she name drops like this. QVC's fashion tries to please everyone and offend no one at prices that everyone can afford using the easy pay. That's why the clothes are hum drum middle of the road, boring. Aisling, along with all the other B'As are fashion influencers, desperately trying in any way they can to drum up sales. Cuts no ice with me! Some of Ben di Lisi's styles interest me, but they're mostly too tame and a few of Marla's, but not Ruth's frumpy range or Helene Berman.

I bought one of the jumpers with the dog on the front and I went for small, however, it was really big on me (and I'm not flat chested) so I went for the XS instead and it was a much better fit. If something is stretchy I would size down but if it's non stretch I'd go true size.
