Charlie Brook

I don't think it matters that Charlie and his partner aren't married. I understand that many people view marriage as the ultimate commitment but all the rings and ceremonies in the world cannot change how two people feel about each other and don't make one iota of difference in terms of stability for their children. I came from a home / family that is probably as dysfunctional as it gets - single parent mother, gangster / actor father. I turned out alright and reasonably educated.

Charlie renews his contract on QVC. Okay Charlie we can only offer this much of a raise, but you are welcome to eat whatever you see on set. Bet the camera crew hate him, usually on cookery shows they get to tuck in after its finished.

So now we know the answer to the question, 'Who Ate All The Pies?' It was Charlie.:mysmilie_5:
Very greedy man scoffing again tonight on the cooks essential show.. Puts me off watching the show he never stops.

Chomping Charlie, the Human Hoover, strikes again. I remember him scoffing chocolates on programmes some years ago. It was not a pretty sight with him just about able to nod his head to everything the BA said. It did cross my mind why they bothered to even put him on....but of course he had to be there to scoff everything, as he'd obviously not eaten for about 3 weeks.

Even though he appears to love food and eats whatever he can get his hands on when he's a presenter on cooking shows, he manages to keep very slim. Therefore, I think he's only salivating and eating bites of everything to get people to buy. He's very devious and nothing is beneath him - and not only him - to increase sales. However, it's his job.

I find him very slimy

"Chomping Charlie, the Human Hoover." Love it!!!

He's probably lucky in that he doesn't put the weight on, but personally I find it off-putting if the presenter is just standing there scoffing and the BA's doing all the work. And when it was chocolates being sold (pies also, I seem to recall) he was literally pushing food into his mouth constantly. Trying to speak and eat would probably have choked him. No harm at all in having a sample of the food to encourage viewers to buy, but eating constantly and letting the BA do the spiel because his mouth is full is surely not what he's paid for? Just looks plain greedy, in my book.

Free food.

Surely they all have ample time to eat the food when the show finishes?
There must be so much food left over like expensive roast meat, sausages, cake and pies. I hope it doesn't get thrown out. It seems that Charlie is the major glutton. The other presenters take polite little nibbles. I hope they tuck in afterwards.

I saw the afternoon show and thought it was appalling, he left Simon to do all the talking while he filled his gob. to me he is such a phony, cannot bear him and this constant eating on air should be stopped. what is the point? they are not going to say, Ugh! it's vile! although Simon's dishes always look so delectable, wish I could cook like him.
I totally agree with you, he is completely phoney. How does he keep his job???? He spoils every show he’s on. Oh let him go please……… he’s revolting.

He has never been funny. In fact he’s a total bore. The only person who laughs at his so called jokes is himself and the long wait he always does waiting for his audience response never comes. Get the message Charlie.
It's a possibility that he's getting some reaction to his 'jokes' through his earpiece, hence the delay. Maybe he's being told to get on with selling and stop being a silly a*se. I've mentioned it before, but I think he's bored silly with his job and tries to lighten his time on air by, as he says, 'digressing'.

PS to all that - Charlie Brook on the Kitchenaid hour was a model of good behaviour and hardly scoffed anything - well except for stuffing a whole doughnut into his mouth once he was, anyway. Do you think he reads this forum?
I hope he does read it. Then he would realize that he’s one of the top ten most disliked people on television.

What? Even more disliked than Richard Jackson?:LOL:

Actually I Iike Richard, he got me into gardening years ago and I've had huge amounts of joy from growing things.
