Last night before bed I was putting on my Liz Earle Spiced Bitter Orange hand cream and it was pilling. That was only the third time of using it. I got it in the TSV with the matching cleanse and polish and handwash.

I was quite shocked because I've never had any product ever do that.

I washed my hands and put on the Skin Repair hand cream instead which was and always has been fine.

Does anyone know why this happened?

I'm not sure if I'm going to use it again which is a bummer cos it's the 150ml size.

Just a guess, but is it an exfoliating hand cream?

I have never had any problems with LE hand cream in fact it is one of my favourites as I find it sinks in and is not sticky. However I have found differences with C&P when they are different scents. Some seem thicker and not as smooth a consistency.Perhaps the change in added ingredients results in how they perform?

I've always loved the LE hand repair and never found it to pill. I do find some handcreams drier than others, MB is quite a dry cream, but I've never had a problem with LE.

CC

The only moisturizer in hand or face I remember piling, and weirdly it was hours after I applied. Elemis rich PCMC and it was the side of my face near my ears. For some reason, my face was itchy, and I rubbed and piling happened. Now, I do use facial serums or oils, so that might have been the cause? Weird.

It hasn't been touted as one.

I thought it was like the Skin Repair hand cream but with a different scent.

LE hand cream has always been like this IMO. The trick is to stop rubbing it in as soon as feels like it has almost sunk in because it doesn't have much slip to it so if you carry on rubbing it starts clumping back off.
I think that's what I did, was rubbing it in too vigorously and for too long.

I actually don't find it moisturising it feels dry but I'm only using it before bed.

I shan't purchase this again.

The only cleanse and polish my skin can tolerate is the original and the rose & lavender scents. Any other I've tried has made face sting and I've had to give them away.

I haven't tried the spiced orange that came in the TSV with the hand cream and hand wash yet, fingers crossed I'll be able to use it.

I don’t have any problems with Prai, nor with handcreams that I can recall. However just lately I have had problems with body lotions. I bought Sukin and another one from H&B (something like Earth and Nature?) and honestly when I started to rub it in it just went like white paint on my skin. I looked like an actor in classical Japanese theatre makeup, but on the body not the face, 😂. I had to wipe it off with a towel. I had never seen anything like it. So that was a waste of money in my attempt to economise away from MB, 😂. Needless to say I have bought more MB since that all happened.

I had the same issue with Elemis Body Butter and then with Korres Body Butter, I normally use Gatineau Body Lotion with no problem but I was trying to use up items from my stash. I am using a Bath & Body Lotion just now without any issues.

The best hand cream is the Aveda one, I've used it for years, nothing else is as good as that one.....in my opinion of course.

Q need to sell it, in duos :)

The absolute worst moisturiser for me was Prai Neck cream,no matter how I applied it would always pill on me, can’t understand how it’s a cult product.
I don’t understand that either. The Prai neck cream didn’t pill on me but it made my neck sticky which I didn’t like. I now use an aloe vera cream and that’s not sticky and sinks in and is definitely working although, thankfully, my neck wasn’t too bad to start with.

I've found the Garnier 10 body super food good for me. I can't use anything too rich as the skin on my legs damages so easy.

I’m using the M.Asam Summer Orange Body Exfoliant, I did buy from Q when it was on special offer.
Oh I like M Asam* so will have to look out for some exfoliation when my current one runs out. I am not very good at remembering to use it so will have to put it in a more prominent place in the bathroom .

* I’m a big fan of the magic finish or whatever it’s called, although I know many on here don’t get on with it, but it doesn’t go orange or cakey on me. I also liked their Vitamin C range so got some of that recently when on offer.

Thanks Mazza, I’m interested in the Vitamin C.🙂
