& as far as i know its a stocking gift set along the same lines they had before
I do not buy samplers, but for those who do SCW posted elsethread about 705050, 2 lovely boxes each with 12 for £29.96 plus £5.95. These may compare well to any new TSV as I certainly think they are better than the advent calendars which had little wax content but looked pretty. These boxes are the same design.
Yankee does some rubbish scents too. Am sad to say I'm no longer buying YC jars or votives as there just isn't enough scent throw, That said, I recently finished burning a large jar of Moroccan Argan oil from a crap 3 jar TSV. The candle offered little scent and poor light (the wick seemed to burn down like tissue paper). I burned the candle for about 10 hours to let it burn out but still no fragrance. However, after freezing the jar and emptying the contents, I burned the residue like a wax melt and the fragrance was really nice. I used at least 5 tea lights under it before the fragrance faded. All the oil from the large jar had seeped to the bottom. Don't know anything about candle making, but I suspect a change in production has led to this reduction in quality and a stream of bad reviews from customers. My question is, how long will YC and QVC ignore this issue? I wonder if it's because although people may complain, they are also reluctant to return jars due to high postage costs. So until people stop buying it's a win-win situation for them both.

Could not agree more, I bought that "crap" set too, what a waste of money that was, none of those three had much throw to them, also bought a set of three of the florals, country heather etc, they were terrible as well, really wished I had sent them all back, will never buy another large jar again unless I am convinced they have improved and I can't see that happening, I have bought better candles from Asda for a few pounds,

look to my post on the first page of this newly combined thread & its apparently a stocking set like last years but better
If it's votives it's a big NO from me as they smell of absolutely nothing when lit. If it's melts and a burner then it's a big YES from me as I need a burner and I find tarts smell quite strong most of the time. Have never tried the big jars - always seems like a lot of money.

I agree about votives..... with the exception of cranberry ice which for some reason I can actually smell when burning. Whenever you get a freebie votive choice on other sites I always pick that one. Sugared Apple is a second choice then everything else is fairly pointless for me.

Putting an illuma lid on and putting it in a £6 hurricane jar from tesco makes tunnelling a thing of the past with Yankees. However the almost identical Village candle large jars have 2 wicks so this is not necessary (though I pop an illuma lid on just in case). The throw is better too. Got coffee bean in my kitchen and it's very strong.
