Well folks, please wish me luck today. I have put a claim in for my broken pelvis and today I have to see a specialist medical man to see the extent of my injuries.

Seemingly the insurance company for the man who smashed me up need an expert to check everything. They have the hospital reports, my doctor's reports, but still need to see me. They will probably not be happy that my back's still not right.

My long shopping trips are over at the moment, I can only do about 20 minutes of walking before I need to sit down as my back kills.

So off I will be trotting to see some unknown expert who will try to prove I am ok. So hopefully it will go ok. I wasn't going to put a claim in as I have never done it before, but my family said I should. But then again, I have never before been in an accident so have never needed to before. Will let you know how I get on.

Sorry obviously put this in the wrong place. Am trying to delete the whole thing but can't do it.

I really hope this went well and you had a positive consultation. As someone who was recently flung across a bus and into a pole when it braked severely - luckily only sustaining bumps and bruises - I can fully sympathise with how events that happen so quickly can change your life. I am sorry you weren't as lucky as me and had such a serious injury. I wish you all the best with your recovery. 🤞🤗

That sounds awful! I've been off a while so no idea what happened.

My best advice would be to be persistent and record EVERYTHING! Sometimes these interviews can be stressful and make you forget important details. If the stress becomes too much, ask for a loo break. Review what's been said so far and go back in.

I know you've already had it and I hope it went well but if you're called for another, either take someone for support who can help you or do what I've suggested. I've been a support for a person in interviews like this and if it's the opposite side they're quite... squirrelly. They'll twist everything in their report so a recording (covert on phone as they won't agree) will be handy to put against what they've written.

I abhor the way some of these people operate. My friend had a serious accident in work, was badly injured and developed PTSD directly because of it. The up-his-own-arse psychiatrist (who spent the first 10 minutes arguing that he wouldn't accept a supporter but then gave in and the next 10 minutes reciting his qualifications and name-dropping famous cases he'd worked on) wrote a completely different report to what we'd recorded.

On that basis, another interview was done. A truthful one this time.

Good luck with your claim.
