Who is the most "diva-sh" at QVC?!

Not all topless cars are big and flashy, there are quite a lot of small funky ones at present which are around the price of an average car.

I'm finding more and more ordinary folk are able to take more than one holiday. Sometimes I also wonder how they do it but perhaps they just organise there spending in a different way. Perhaps they don't have other treats. As long as they have worked for their money it is up to them how they spend it.

What really bugs me are those who don't work (don't include retired folk) who seem to have the spending power of the very well off as I'm convinced that I am paying for it through benefits.

Having a 'topless' car no longer signifies 'wealth'. Anyone can pick up a second hand soft top for next to nothing these days. The same applies to holidays. Remember, most of the presenters are part of a couple with grown up children. Therefore there will be a really good income going into the household, with not much being spent on young children.

How anyone can be bitter and jealous about people who work and spend their money how they like astounds me. If you're not happy with your own life, do something to change it. If it's too late, then accept that the choices you made in earlier life were right for you at the time. Life is too short to be jealous - what an awful emotion to posses.

Leighton Denny is the biggest diva I would imagine!

That's a hell of a presumption. The vast, vast majority of people on benefits in this country can barely afford to eat, nevermind splashing the cash. There could be any number of reasons why people don't work yet have money.

There are numerous programmes on telly about benefit cheats and families having loads of children to get free housing andf child benefit etc . Of course lots of people are on benefits for legitimate reasons and struggle to make ends meet however there are many who cheat the system and do have many luxuries that hard working people can't afford. i

That's what the media would have you believe, those programmes aren't remotely based in reality. There are so, so few people actually like that. It's not worth "cheating" the system, what you would get for it is a pittance. Not to mention the stress, judgement and endless terrorising you receive on any kind of benefit. I rarely comment on this sort of thing as I've no desire to be involved in drama of any kind, but I can't bite my tongue this time. This idea of the menace of benefit thieves is just not true. It's not a matter of opinion, the whole thing is propaganda. Don't take my word for it, research the subject via reputable sources. Frankly numerous comments on this forum on the subject have really perturbed me.

I have a few friends who work what are classed as normal jobs, but save their money for things they really want.

One works in a department store, she goes on two holidays a year either Paris, NYC or Florence, this year it was the first and last named. She loves expensive handbags, and goes to the Chanel boutique and Mulberry, the money is from family for her birthday and Christmas also her own money added on. Loves to go to Tiffany's and got a new engagement ring last year and her husband bought her a diamond pendant to match. Was I jealous? No I thought how wonderful for her. Another friend a nurse went on two holidays a year, loved Mulberry and LV handbags.

Many of the presenters have husbands/partners who have well paid jobs. The only one I ever thought of as very high end was Claudia, who now has her own designed jewellery range very expensive. But QVC want them all to blog and tell us what they are doing out of hours from QVC. I doubt any of them are in the pay range of say Holly Willowoby(sp), or the breakfast show presenters.

Well how this tkopic has progressed.

I personally don't care who frives what. I have long held the opinion if you work hard you deserve good things.

If you want my honest opinion, i think none of the qvc presenters fall into that category and with few exceptions are "right up themselves" it is you and I who are paying for it. They have perks i.e many freebies which I would love but ghats standard with a lot of sales jobs.

Who could possibly think we are interested enough in them so as to warrant writing an autobiography, I mean honestly, come on. Not me.

I'm afraid I know several families who are quite 'Shameless '. so I am speaking from experience. I don't wish to get into an arguement about it either but to say that benefit cheats and scroungers are few and far between is debateable in my opinion. I have been on benefits myself and yes for most it is a truely terrible and degrading experience, but there are others who milk the system for all it's worth.

Was it topless? If the presenters can afford great cars, homes and holidays I say good luck to them.:mysmilie_59:

I don't think it was, i just remember my son saying - "do you think if we asked she'd let me drive it" lol... i think that would be a no haha

Please read my original post properly - what I said was "who seem to have the spending power of the very well off"

There are many people (some I've worked with) who seem on the face of it to be able to afford big luxury items, the rest of us cannot. Now, I'm one of life's cynics and i don't believe a word of it, and am not taken in by the 'well I saved for it' syndrome. most probably what you'll find is that they have borrowed the money. No matter how hard I saved for something - and let me tell you I was in a very high end job with huge salary before I retired, something would always happen that had to be fixed costing a lot of money, and the holiday or expensive weekend had to be foresaken.

So, in short, i don't believe what our 'friends' and ' colleagues' tell us. you can't buy expensive things, bags, make up and skin care whether on QVC or elsewhere, and still have expensive holidays twice (or more) a year.

Claudia was a fav of mine, and gorgeous to look at, pleasant and a lady, I've not seen her jewellery. She is also well married, as I agree some of the presenters are - which means if they're so well married, why do they need to work in the first place, why don't they just start their own business hmmmmm!

Oh dear, you do seem to have a very large chip on your shoulder over QVC presenters. Things they own and post on their blogs. QVC started the whole we are a family, so encouraged the whole twitter blog thing to keep customers who choose to follow the presenters. Now considered part of the job.

So they are not now allowed to work at QVC if they choose, but must start their own business as Claudia decided to do?

As for my two friends mentioned, of course they used their credit cards as most do, cheques not accepted now and not likely to walk round carrying wads of cash. But did clear the bills off with in a few months. Oh and by the way do not presume to make judgements on people you do not know in person.

"well married"?

1805's are on the phone for you, someone called Austen (didn't catch her first name).

Back to the cars, I think Anthony and/or Julian had convertibles.

Makes no difference to me who`se got what nor however much it cost !
It all has to be paid for one way or another, whether on credit or in cash. I don`t weigh up people by the cars they drive, the bags they carry or the jewellery they wear. I neither like nor dislike people because of their lifestyles, one person`s choices aren`t always going to be another person`s choices. Some people are materialistic, some aren`t, some people take the view there`s no pockets in a shroud and spend every penny, some don`t, to each their own. I`ve known lovely people from all walks of life and some sh*tbags too and it never occurred to me to decide who I like and who I dislike on whether their car has a top on it, whether their bag is from Primark or Chanel, whether their wedding ring was from a pawn shop or handmade by a designer and whether they lived in a council flat or a mansion. We don`t see or know any of presenters for real, we only know what they tell us and if human nature is anything to go by, then some of their stories will be totally true, some only partly true and some barely true and some stories will be more bent than a safety pin. Who cares how much or how little they earn, I certainly don`t. As for the diva, well it could be any of them who thinks they`re worth twice their salary and twice the attention, we`ve all worked with similar people I`m sure.

I just think it's interesting to see how people live and behave. I think ordinary people can be quite diva-ish too. I probably am for one. I have a flat in Vilnius and a house on the Isle of Wight. I tend to eat organic foods. I will only eat dark chocolate, not milk. I listen to foreign radio stations and watch foreign films yet i'm not particularly rich.

To the person who thinks I have a chip on my shoulder; can't remember her name!

I can assure you I have no chip on either of my shoulders and do not presume to know me well enough to make that assertion.

My opinions are my opinions, I don't care if you agree with me. In the few days I have read some of the posts on here, there are some young and immature people around - again just my opinion.

I read non fiction only, so would have no idea with regard to the mention of Austin.

Oh come on people. No need to turn this into a row :-( If someone has a different view, allow it! Discuss it!
