I love a nice winter jumper and do like fair-isle so I was interested to see it - and the price…

But it looks too boxy on all of the models and presenters - even reading the length immediately thought it needed another couple of inches at least…

Not helped by the big blouson sleeves..!

But I’ll have you know, Jilly says it’s “exceptional value”.

And it’s a whole 7% wool…!

I bought a white stuff Xmas jumper a few years ago and the quality was rubbish. After one wash it was baggy and mishapen so I complained and returned it and got a full refund. I do have several pieces I’ve bought in their high street shop over the last few years and they have washed and worn really wellbut unfortunately their clothes are now out of my price range.

Plus they looked unfinished on the bottoms. Wide legs look ridiculous unless they are full length.

I don't think anyone does,they look like they've grown a couple of inches and haven't got round to getting a new pair.
Bit like towards the end of summer term at school when the boys had grown but had to wait until after the holidays for new trousers.

Too short and that neckline would drive me nuts. I’ve got more than enough clothes for winter anyway, as I’ve just bought a whole new winter/summer wardrobe because of my intentional weight loss, so it was easy to ignore this TSV.

Patrick,presenting, wore a similar jumper which was much more stylish in colour and fit. Everything is fairisle this year.

I love traditional Fairisle jumpers. Mum used to knit them for us when we were children. It was a good way of using up odd balls of wool. My sister and I would have jumpers, cardigans and berets, Dad always have pullovers which would probably be called tank tops these days. If I remember correctly she’d knit the yokes in the round on 4 needles. I never mastered four needles knitting, only ever made a pair of mittens. Might have another go as you can use long circular needles.

Yes, my mum used to knit Arran jumpers and Fairisle jumpers for me when I was a child.

I bought a jumper in M&S yesterday, okay not Fairisle but same mix of materials, and it was £29.50. Their Fairisle jumpers are around £30.

I knit a lot of Aran jumpers and cardis. The only thing is I don’t like sewing them up. Still have two to sew up that I knitted earlier this year. At the moment knitting hats for the Sailors Society.

No just plain stocking stitch ones in DK. The patterns came from the Seaman’s Society.
I normally knit Aran stuff in Aran weight wool.
