Where are Debbie Greenwood & Julian Ballantyne?

Maybe Carmel intended to leave after having her baby but was contractually obliged to come back for 3 months following matetnity leave. Most employment contracts stipulate that otherwise you have to repay some of your maternity pay

wonder how they are sorting the cull, last in first out, popularity with viewers, or who would the least fuss ?

It must be based on sales for those they choose to get rid of. But it may have been Carmel & Anna's choice to go, even Julian may have chosen to leave. He wasn't on air much really and has fingers in lots of pies. It would have been nice to have a farewell show though for those not leaving under a cloud. It's Julian who is the most baffling given his popularity and many years at Q.

Ok so started replying on this thread - but soooooooooo many pages later I can't wade through them all - can someone give me the gist of it??!!
Has DG left officially then??? I'd be disappointed if she had..I liked her...

Lol RD. I think DG started it all with some very odd tweets hinting that she was sad about something. Then other tweets I think from Anna expressing sympathy for DG and Julian. Then Anna seeming to leave gracefully and being able to say goodbye but the others not. Somewhere along the way apparently Carmel has gone too. Resulting speculation about "did they jump or were they pushed." My assessment so far:
Anna- jump
Carmel-jump
Debbie- pushed
Julian- don't know but wish he was staying!

Others may think differently but that's my gleaning of this thread so far.

A friend of mine knows someone who works at the call centre. Lots of people are ringing in about it. Word is that contracts were up for renewal at significant pay cut. This was not well received by two of the senior presenters. Negotiations were not successful hence their contracts were not renewed.

If that is true then contracts will be up for renewal at different times of year for all the presenters. There may be more to come

Simpering Catherine drives me nuts too! Cannot tolerate her presentation style. Ah well less watching la Q! How fascinating about the insider info on pay negotiations.

Must be bad for morale and atmosphere, like any workplace. Wonder if remaining will stuff their presentations up with stress? Make way for robotic adjectives galore!

Qvc have taken on a lot of new presenters recently which inevitably means fewer hours (and less money) for everyone - and a very good thing too imo. Now, whether they took on more staff because they knew that some wanted to leave or whether they intended to spread the load and not bore us to tears with the same few faces all the time I don't know. Whether anyone has been pushed is just speculation. I find it hard to believe. Some may resent the cut in hours/pay and feel it's just not worth it any more, but that surely wouldn't apply to Julian who doesn't do much anyway. He does have a beauty salon which may be doing well enough for him to give up qvc. I've said it before, but I think that the ones who should be considering their futures are the ones who will hang on until the bitter end and that can't be a desirable outcome of all this for qvc. Maybe they could terminate all contracts and invite people to reapply.

Thank you, that is what I said from the start. CONTRACTS. So if the other presenters agree to their new contracts no one else will be going anywhere.
