What a fuss about nothing

While I'm on a whingefest, what gives with this birthday. Other than two of the hours today (a Tanzy special and one other at 7.00 am) offering free p&p on sales made within those specific hours, not a lot doing for us. Champers and cake for the presenters (which I'm not for one minute begridging them), silly hats and balloons - oh and a 5th birthday "commemorative ring box" on certain items (whoop-de-doo) and 4 pieces of the silver tat that won't sell normally, now going for £20 all served up in a birthday bag.

C'mon Gems you can and have done much better than this on lesser birthdays. What a let down after all that hype!

i've not tuned in for ages but it all sounds a bit like a whimper and a sigh rather than a celebration. was a time they'd really go for it with double header shows and loads of madness. my take on recent comments about GTV is that it's all a bit soulless these days. is that right?

and there was me with me day and pennies all sorted. There was a good double header with Lynn and Angelina, but very brief. It was also good to see Liv back this morning. Unless you count any of the above as treats and special offers, it's otherwise been something of a non event for me. However, peeps are paying very high prices for chemical topaz and lots of it, so for Gems no doubt it's a success. Think I'll give days 2 - 5 a miss. Been really mean with myself lately waiting for this "event"(?), thank goodness I've got me luvverly box of choccies eh? :wink2: xxxxxxxxxxxx

Last night with Lynne and Angeline, my identical RS bracelet went for £599 and I paid £399 in August for it minus a 10% discount. They were saying how fantastic the deal was and what an opportunity and how it would never be repeated. Maybe the birthday special treat is that WE pay loads more to treat THEM on their birthday.
(Mind you, my cheapy bracelet did break after only six weeks, but that's another thread!)

It is no surprise to me that these celebrations are more than a bit pathetic.... just received NOW an email from Gems, dated 7th October, telling me about the Fab things planned!! If they got their notification system in gear then they might have a bigger audience, then they might sell more things, then they might have an incentive to get the CS in better order again, then they migh sort out their p ricing, then , then then then....... list goes on and on. What a sad story for a once fun and exciting channel.

You are so right, Argey..... I am waiting for a gilt frame to be custom made for my copy of that fab foto of us at last week's tea dance, by the way. I don't think we've ever looked better........... tho' I'm still not sure about your tattoos !

The sharp eyed amongst you will see that we are not wearing any gems bracelets in our "Red" pic.... that's because, in my case, at least five of mine are either broken or missing stones! Thought that might be relevant in the light of the trouble listed elsewhere about a Gems TV rainbow sapphire bracelet, and a watch!

I flicked over this afternoon, lynne and adina gearing themselves up to 10 hours of tanzanite!! dont mind tanzanite, but 10 hours of it? a tad monotomous - this 5th birthday, really has not been much to shout about, imoho! a big fuss over absolutely nothing really - oh well, i suppose next we have to "look" forward to is the dressing up for halloween - and then the christmas decorations will hit our screen for the B I G Christmas sale - not doubt that will incur more melt downs, mega melt downs and any other melt down they can think of in trying to get us to purchase M O R E!
