Wardrobe malfunction…? Or Sass?

When QVC first started AY would wear a professional looking beauty therapists white top or dress.

The model would be laying on the treatment bed with AY sitting on one side and the presenter sitting on the other side.

AY would talk about the product and demo it on the model while the presenter asked pertinent questions.

How times have changed.

Those were the days.

You cant give advice to others if you don't adhere to it yourself.

Once again, her medical condition doesn’t mean that she can’t do her job. Apparently she doesn’t only work on QVC so she must know what she’s talking about.

If she has issues she shouldn't be on tv trying to convince people what's best for their skin and health.

I respectfully disagree.

Just because she has a medical condition it doesn’t mean that she can’t advise people on what to use. I would imagine that she understands more than most because an underactive thyroid can also cause skin problems.

I agree that having a medical condition of which weight gain is a side effect she can’t do anything about that. Infact even if it wasn't medical that is no reason not to be on TV BUT she needs to dress to her shape whatever that may be, however her sense of style is a bit off the wall and not in a good way.

The thing I can’t excuse is the bliddy awful make up and hair as that is something she can and darn well should do something about. I’m no makeup experts but even I could do a better job, for a start I would bin anything shiny- she isn’t a magpie attracted to shiny objects.

So weight no - new stylist yes - make up a crime against beauty.

I caught the TSV presentation last night, the lip stuff. And have noticed this before, she is standing and moves from one foot to the other, lifting one foot and leaning on the heel part. She only does this when wear very high shoes, last night wedges. She doesn't do it in the trainers she wears. So if she cannot stand in the high footwear and has to move from foot to foot, why the hell is she wearing them? I just know she will have them off as quickly as she can at the end of a show. Sheer vanity, which does not seem to extend to her on air clothes, the highlighter, black eyeliner which show her eye bags.

I will say she is no doubt going through menopause, being in her mid 50s. Does she do the menopause shows on QVC?

I very much doubt she would want to reveal anything.

She should not have the enlarged, very flattering photo of herself on the wall in the background (she's wearing a navy jacket and a white blouse.) We all have photos of ourselves when we were younger and probably trimmer, but it's the 'now ' that counts.
Be the best you can with what you have now and stop living in the past it is old fashioned and is offering yourself up for comparisons.

At the end of the day, as has been said many times on here. AY is a sales woman, she works for QVC and will push any range or product QVC pay her to push people to buy.

Years back as has also been said she was a lot more honest in saying products or range not suitable for certain age groups or people. Now, everything QVC sell is suitable for every living being in the world.
This is why it makes me cross when she spouts about being an independent beauty expert. She is anything but because she only promotes what is on QVC and the products are suddenly suitable for everyone. It is a complete contradition and I am surprised she is allowed to quote such on QVC.

Indeed. But this is presumably how Q wishes to present her these days, not using the “therapist” vibe. I don’t mind AY at all, but I don’t think she is as good as she used to be. I also have an under active thyroid so can sympathise with the additional weight! And I do not think that means her beauty comments are invalid. But she is certainly presented more as just a saleswoman these days, and just throws in the beauty expert stuff as a by the way. I have seen her in magazines on judging panels so she must have some status in the industry.

I think she has an underactive thyroid problem and weight gain is one of the delights of that.
I had an overactive thyroid 4 years ago and lost a stone and a half in 6 weeks. Was sent straight to hospital by my doctor when I eventually went as my heart beat was 124 and my hands were shaking. Beta blockers till I saw the specialist then more pills for 18 months. Weight slowly went back to normal but in the end had to have my thyroid killed off with a radio iodine pill. (Was radioactive for 3 weeks and not allowed out. Not allowed to even go near hubby) Take a pill a day now to replace my thyroid.

All back to normal now, so am sure AY should be able to get hers sorted, takes a bit of time but it is fixable. Took a few years but am missing the time when I went down to 7 and a half stone. I looked really slinky. Could wear tight stretchy things and look good. 😁

I have seem her appear in the Daily Mail and in Woman & Home once but nowhere else. No-one has any idea of who she is unless they watch QVC. I think the majority of her status is self proclaimed.

I had an over active thyroid too. Not allowed to pee in public toilets after being nuked, I was told. They never actually nuked mine in the end, no idea why? Perhaps my laughing at the specialist when she said about public toilets? Mine just started going under active over the years and I had to stop taking the tablets as they made it too under active. I know laying in bed at night my heart felt like it was coming out of my chest and I could not hold a pen to write my hand shook that much.
