I thought I'd do my very own product test.
Under the left eye Lacura Eye Roll-On, under the right eye Alpha-H Absolute Eye Complex.
What prompted this?
My cousin has just sent an enthusiastic e-mail telling me that she's having her eye bags removed.
She's married with 3 sons so we can excuse her little slip up when she wrote, "I'm having the family jewels removed" (LOL)

Himself walked in and asked what I was doing.
"But you did that recently!"
"That was with Gayle Hayman Eye Lift Gel and Alpha-H and the latter was better. Now I'm trying this"

Needless to say, there was a response & I'm not going to give it any credit here.

Am I alone in doing this?
:biggrin:Do I need to get a life .... or just eye surgery? :

Denise Welch goes on about having had her eye bags removed, they did a good job. Wonder how much that costs, it doesn't take long for the cost of all the eye products to add up and run into hundreds.

I'm interested to know the results - I'm using the Alpha H Absolute Eye Serum at the moment (the one that AY insists will peel dark circles off - I say rollocks to that) and finding it excellent (but I get mine from e-bay rilly rilly cheap) but always on the search for the holy grail eye cream...

You need to tell us which one was best!

I will!

Don't forget to use the door hook for full impact!

Himself is dangling from it at the mo ...

That's what I told Himself - "I could save you a fortune!"
My cousin has been told it can cost between £2,500 & £4,000, it depends on what she has done. She has not seen the consultant yet.

I found the Alpha-H better than Gayle Hayman, but the bags are still prominent. I've had no peeling either.

The holy grail for me is something to improve hooded lids. I used Gale Hayman eye gel for ages - you guessed it - no improvement. If I ever see that Sam woman, I will tell her too!! I personally think there is nothing that will do the job, but I would love to be proved wrong. Thanks for this Minim.

Perhaps exercise may be more effective for that particular issue. There are gizmos and some excellent books and this seems to be one thing it really does help.

I am using la roche posay at the moment, second tube, love it, my eyes do look fresher. It's about £12 in Boots. Ask for a sample sachet.

My top two eye creams/serums/whatevers are Philosophy I-Believe or Dermalogica PowerLift. Not sure you can still get the Philosophy one any more as I've bought two Dermalogica ones in a row. And that one can also be used on the lips. I've used one or other for years. My eyes are really good so I can't really say either one is any good for eye bags. Pointless ruddy post there then Tinks lol

I was treated to my first facial about two months ago & they used Dermalogica products.
Everything was fine until she put the eye cream on. I don't know which one it was, but it was definitely intended for my eye bags as I had a little lecture while she was tapping it on.
It tightened alright, but it irritated like heck.

No, not at all :mysmilie_508:

Update.
As promised, this is an update on a little experiment I had going on two eye products, one for each eye
Alpha-H Absolute Eye Complex 15ml – approx £14.00 eBay (QVC Price £31.50)
and
Lacura Eye Roll-On - Aldi £3.49

Both are good, but one made a noticeable difference. I went out with friends tonight and was asked by one of them what was a matter with my eye. I knew exactly what she meant.

The Lacura Eye Roll-On has shrunk the eye bag under my left eye so that the bag under the right eye is bigger. In fact, the right eye bag is exactly the same as it was before, but the contrast is noticeable so it looks as if my right eye is slightly swollen.
Not my imagination, I've actually got an extra wrinkle under my left eye (see, you can't win em all)

Saying that, the Alpha-H Absolute Eye Complex improved the crepiness on my right eye and I fancy the dark circle is slightly lighter. I tried to take a photo but it was rubbish.

I intended to do a longer trial, but why would I go on sporting a big eye bag!
They won't go completely, I know that, but I'm really pleased with the result.

Your experiment minim proves that we cannot have it all. Reduced eye bags result in a new wrinkle, reduced crepeyness doesn't reduce the bag. I have eye bags due to an underactive thyroid and I desperately wanted them gone and medication has helped but I do have a crepey line where the swelling has reduced. I cannot use creams, like JR, they just make me swell up, I have to use gels, but the constant balancing act to improve my eye area, I know, will always be a ooooh/oh affair.

I have an underactive thyroid too. Been on high dose meds for quite a few years now so have the same problems.
The eye cream I'm finding most successful at present is the Youth Code one by L'Oreal, it's definately reduced the bags quite a bit & is moisturing as well so helps fade the fine lines. I'm on my second pot now, don't often repeat buy eye creams!
The expensive red cased Clarins one is ok too but no better than this & at £40+ more eyewatering if only when you hand over the cash!

But I'm going to try the Aldi for sure, sounds very promising & I already like some of their other stuff. So thankyou for doing this test for us.

thank you minim...I got the Lacure Caffeine roll-on this week so I'm glad to know I might be seeing some results! I'm using it with the Lacura concealer under my eyes and tho behind specs anyway, my eyes look lighter & brighter - I've tried the concealer on the lids too instead of my Mally or Barbara Daly ones - so far so good!

my step-daughter swears by Dermalogica and must admit her skin looks good. Had a flyer thru the door..new salon locally which does Dermalogica mini & full facials..DD and I are thinking of treating ourselves soon!

Go for it Carol.
My daughters treated me & it was wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed being pampered.
They bought the offer through Groupon and it was not just a facial cleanse & massage, but some fangle-dangle hand held machine that was supposed to do something or other to the collagen (I thought she was going to shave me!) Anyway, I don't think it was working that day lol. I felt nothing. Must say, I'm not easily impressed.
But that's besides the point. I came out feeling squeaky clean & relaxed, though I refused to stay in the slightly psychedelic blue room lit with moving blue lights & weird taped noises coming out of a speaker while my daughter got the treatment done. It was much more interesting sitting in the reception area trying to guess what clients had come in for :giggle:
I liked the Dermalogica products she used, but not enough to purchase them. The face wash smelt of lemons and was lovely. The moisturiser was nice too, but the eye gel made my eyes feel really tight. I know there was a lot of excess baggage under them, but still

DD has some hols coming up pretty soon so we might just get ourselves an appt! Have only ever had one facial in my life, for my 50th birthday (I asked for it!) - that was an aromatherapy one and I loved it - I just don't get organised enough to go regularly - well I'm now almost 64!!
