New channels launch easy pay

Received a card in the post today saying I should get excited about two new channels launching on 13 August Style and Extra and to celebrate they are treating me to a promotional code NEWCHN.

"If you shop with us before 31 August you'll be able to pay in three easy interest free instalments Woo Hoo".

Has anyone else received one.

Who are they going to get to present on these new channels, seems like a few of them are leaving going by threads on here

Taking a leaf or two from IW? Wonder when the move from Chiswick Towers to an industrial estate will happen! I rarely watch the main channel let alone searching for channels repeating the same old, same old. Save your money QVC and invest in some new products for the bored viewer!

QVC to launch two new standalone shopping channels

QVC has announced that it is to launch two new shopping channels next week.

On 13 August, QVC Style and QVC Extra will launch on Sky, Freesat, www.qvcuk.com and, for viewers with internet connected TVs, on Freeview. The move will double the number of QVC TV standalone channels available.

QVC Style, which previously broadcasted as an interactive channel only available on Sky, will focus on fashion, fashion accessories and fashion jewellery, while QVC Extra will showcase “the best of QVC’s entire product range”.

Both channels will be on air 24 hours a day, seven days a week and QVC Extra will also be available on QVC’s main TV channel during night-time hours between 2am and 9am.

Meanwhile, QVC Active on Sky Interactive is being switched off as a result of more customers choosing to use smartphones and tablets for ordering.

Steve Bridgeman, chief merchandising officer at QVC, said: "QVC Beauty has been hugely successful which is why we are launching QVC Style and QVC Extra as standalone specialist channels for our viewers. It’s also good news for our vendors as they have another opportunity to reach customers who want to watch specific product categories.

"We’re switching off the QVC Active service as customers, whether at home or on-the-go, are using our faster mobile apps to order."

I can't watch the Beauty Channel for long because the editing is dire and the silly jingle starts to drive me nuts!

I've just switched the style channel on because Lulu Guinness is in to find repeats of Julia presenting various bags. Unfortunately the repeats are obviously from a special 5th anniversary show because Julia keeps mentioning it and also saying things like 'oh look this ones on 4 easy pays' 'this has a special p&p of only 5p' and 'this is on a special price', none of which are relevant to what the price is on screen!!!

Bad editing in the extreme I'd say!

And like i mentioned earlier, how do customers know if the said item is in stock, they have planned shows for next 7 days, but how do they now if said items wil still be in stock, on live programming, they can alter the items to save that in happening. And with the Lulu Guiness handbags, i guess they cant show any of the TSV hours, as they would have a TSV item in there, and for the anniversary prices, surely they have to committ to those prices, as its got to be sold, at the price on screen.

I give these channels up till christmas.

And as for the Style channel, everytime i seem to turn over, its been Claire flogging Honora on her own.

I can't see how the beauty channel has been a huge success when it's just a load of badly edited repeats. Many shows are 30 minute slots just repeated twice to fill the hour! It is boredom personified and I can't see either of the "new" channels being any better if they are going to follow the same format. Often items have gone out of stock, or easypays have been removed or other promotions no longer apply. How can they front a fashion channel when their fashion sense is so bad. As others have said, they'd be better off investing that money in the main channel and turning it back to what it used to be - affordable and worth watching. QVC really did mean what it stands for once.

Just seem on QVC Style, on the strap, it says the price u see on screen is what u [ay, so i guess, if there are anniversary prices, or cheapo P&P they havent got any choice but to offer u it at that price

Kim&Co, dale has just said this has sold out, sums it all up rather dont it

New channels - lack of product, lack of sensibility.

These new channels really are the biggest pile of steaming poo. The programmes are ancient, badly edited and boring. On three occasions now I've tried to order and the product has been out of stock or no longer available at all. So why are they airing it, especially with the message on the bottom of the screen that says all items are available to order. Er, no they're not! However, the worst and most upsetting thing of all is seeing them broadcasting recordings on there of Amica with Prai. They've made barely a mention of her passing but they'll keep showing it for the sake of a sale. Oh no, can't possibly show some respect and maybe lose an order or two eh? Shame on you QVC. I'm a firm believer in karma.

These new channels are only on Sky, just like the Beauty channel.

The Beauty channel is on Freeview. You need to retune Freeview to get new channels - an auto-tune it should pick the Beauty channel up on 35.

According to Chuntleys blog the new channel will not be only repeats, there are new shows as well.

As I can't get them it doesn't matter but I suspect it is more of her claptrap gushing.
