Looks like, if it's just a one off purchase, QVC is better value for a change!
I was very tempted but the last time I planted tulip bulbs in a pot the squirrels dug them all out!
I gave in and ordered the tsv too!
Just a quick follow up...
If anyone missed out on the Purple Passion tulip bulbs, zoom down to the newsagent's today [Saturday] and buy the Guardian.
There's a special offer in there for flowering bulbs.
The Purple Passion tulips are [once again] £14.98 for 40 bulbs, but the main offer is 125 spring flowering bulbs for the cost of the postage - £2.69.
Even if you don't order the tulips, you can still get the other bulbs free.
Thank you for the info. I missed the TSV and was kicking myself! Am so glad I read this thread this morning! Thank you again!

It must be a good year for squirrels, as we've had a baby boom round here. All very cute until they start making a nuisance of themselves.
[Yes, I know that officially they're vermin, but it's been fun watching them try to mount raids on next door's squirrel-proof bird table. ]
Anyway, what I'm [eventually] getting round to is that if you make up a strong, cold chilli tea using dried chilli powder, and dip the bulbs in just before planting, the squirrels quickly learn to leave them alone.
