Okay, I know they give you the second postage half price on two identical items, but what do you get off on three identical items?

My OH's mother has just been on the phone asking this for some pillows (I did tell her she'd probably get a REAL bargain elsewhere but she's adamant she wants to try them before deciding on keeping them) and I couldn't work it out!

She thinks I'm being awkward now :headbang:

Thanks, both.

I thought it was and told her that, but she's adamant that she's ordered three identical items in the past and only had the half price on the second, and paid full on the third. Not that I'd put it past Q, but I do wish she wouldn't ring me (or worse, call in!) to moan then have a go at me if I give her the "wrong" answer.

Ah, the joys of family at Christmas. Wake me up when it's all over.

Big hug :bear: nearly there!

Thought it was full on 1st then identical 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th all at half priced postage.
After that you need do another order starting at the 1st at full priced postage then as above.

Yes, half price on the second 100% identical item. After that, full price P&P for the third item unless you buy 4 then you get half price P&P, but I remember they cut you off at a certain number as well.

It's full price for the first and for the next four it's half price, once you get to five, it's full price again, then half for the next four and so on. I bought two tops from from Ideal World on Thursday £4.99 each, different colours but same item number so £1 delivery and got them today........just sayin'. :mysmilie_3:

So are their postage charges some kind of scam? You know how some people sell stuff a lot cheaper than it should be on eBay, then hike up the price of the postage to make up the cost of an item, therefore avoiding eBay fees. Is this some kind of dodgy practice that means QVC make profit on the postage charge but avoid taxes? Because frankly their postage charges are ludicrous.

You know that "free" phone number they're always banging on about, it actually isn't free, you pay for it with the inflated postage charge, even if you use the "free" phone number or not, customers are still paying for it with every item purchased.

Ebay have for a few years now hit sellers with taking a percentage of the shipping fees. Think it is 10%? But they caught up with the 99p items with shipping of £20.

I have always said QVC make money from the postage charges. Some insist it is to cover items going missing? But QVC in the US as well as endless complaints for years over their postage charges.

Auto Delivery multiples...

Slightly off topic: If you try to order more than one auto-delivery item via the QVC website it won't let you. You'd have to order them separately with full postage on each. If you ring the call centre they will process an order for two or more with the postage discount if they're identical. My days of ordering multiples of a TSV have long gone, but someone may find this useful, particularly split and sell ebayers of beauty TSVs.

I suspect there is some tax position here, but I don't know enough about taxes etc to give a definitive perspective.
