Jemma Forte. What a pita, ridiculous descriptions of the scents, exaggerated facial expressions and use of hands. Poor AY can’t keep up.

I’m surprised that the MB TSV isn’t boxed as a luxury giftset. I wouldn’t give someone a bottle of liquid soap just wrapped in paper, not even a presteeeejus brand.

The Molton Brown guest,

I can't watch her (J F) she is yet another guest with an annoying twee voice that make me jump on my off button :mysmilie_17:

Yes twee is the word I was looking for to describe her voice.I am not into MB but if I was I would have to mute her could only watch her for seconds they are not that special are they?

It's the "via" that has me reaching for the Sky+ remote with record speed, it sounds absolutely ridiculous, the only "via" it does is the Knowsley warehouse "via" the factory it's made in, so yes I reach for that remote when I hear it, via the couch.

Years ago when Jill Goldsmith presented the brand, the Christmas tsv was offered with great gift packaging. Sadly not anymore. Even the poor man's offering of Bayliss & Harding look far better.

When Jemma first started I didn't like her at all especially all the arm waving. But I really like her now and the arms stay relatively still! I think she is one of the better guests these days. Mind you I haven't watched any of today's shows so maybe she has lapsed!

Totally agree. I think that she’s really good and she’s got a cracking sense of humour as well.

London via Iceland made me laugh. At those prices I would have expected London via Waitrose or Booths (the Waitrose of the North).

Yes at first she was very annoying, found her so hard to watch but she is so much better now.

I watched the launch and I didn't see anything over the top about Jemma's performance. She has calmed down considerably since her early days when she reminded me of a windmill. The "via" thing is laughable (as are premium prices flaming products full of sodium lauryl sulfate) but their fragrances are good quality.

Having annoyed me mightily in her early days, I find her personable, self-deprecating and with a sense of humour. A pleasant watch for me.

I don't mind her she's quite funny and far from bland however I have outgrown MB as the copies from Aldi are very good

Easily one of the best guests I’m my opinion. Smart, funny, knows her products inside out and always happy to make jokes at her own expense.

I always thought MB was a big sell out but seems to be still going?

MB withdrew from QVC years ago, apparently QVC (shopping telly) wasn't an image they wanted to be associated with, not "high end" enough image for them, seems like QVCs customers money is good enough for them now after all......who knew?

This isn't aimed at you SF......My comments aren't about the woman as a person, I'm sure she's absolutely lovely, I'm just commenting on the brand and the presentation with her throwing her "vias" all over the shop.

I don't like all this "via" malarkey either, but to be fair to Jemma this wasn't her bright idea. It is on every bottle and is how MB choose to market/advertise the ingredients.

Molton Brown was bought out by the Japanese company the mid 00s and they pulled the brand from QVC( a bit like Estee Lauder did with Aveda and when they bought out Ojon. QVC just did not fit in with their vision:wonder: of what the brand should be), since then MB has been up and down like a dog's arse. Products pulled then brought back with a different name and then suddenly vanish again. I know I loved their Sea Moss Bath Salts and one day went in to buy and it was gone! Oh and the prices went up big time as well.

They had a very nice makeup range long ago which was pulled then brought back with smaller selection to get pulled again a year later. Then the hair care came back and went came back and went a few times. Which is funny as they originally started out as a hair salon back in the 70s. They had a nice range of perfumes which I thought overpriced well they were MB and they went without warning. I was lucky and did manage to grab the ones I wanted two at 33% off and one a good deal on Ebay. Now they have the perfumes to match the bath ranges some are not bad, to be honest, the Russian Leather and the Gold Oudh are two.

I get the idea that MB has lost their way and because so many people begged QVC to bring the brand back MB decided well we can make big sales and get rid of older stock(yes, every TSV I see stuff in it which is in the outlet stores)so came back.

We have three, yes three MB's in Belfast, two stand-alone stores one in a mall 15 minute from me. About two years ago they were supposed to be closing but are still up and running. One is facing the city hall and always has people in it, the third is in House of Fraser which never seems to join in the store 10% disount thing, even Chanel join in.

No one is perfect, I’m far from it for many reasons, and I’m sure you could find something just not right about Gemma if you wanted to.
But I really like her, her presentations are far from the samey and she appears to her a good sense of humour not full of her own sense of importance and she makes it about the brand.
I like her cousin also and find their appears to be similar traits in both of them.
Long may they both be on TV.

Belfast sounds like a shopper's paradise, Donna. Is the place booming?

My local department store has a good MB range in - only three shelf units but well stacked and a good variety, which is handy when I see a TSV coming up so I can sniff most. It always strikes me as odd they have very few body lotions to try but lots of bottles of hand wash and body wash with "Tester" stickers. I wonder if they would mind if I took a tester bottle of hand wash to the store loos to try it out!
