BusyMum I know how you feel, I had a nasty teacher when I was 7 at primary school and one day she pulled me to the front of the class and called me (in front of everyone) a silly, stupid little girl. She always picked on me for everything and just generally had something against me. I still hear her put-downs in my head.

PPC delves back into the mists of time......

And remembers as a child remarks were always made about me being so small and skinny (JR eat your heart out) and I was constantly referred to as 'little dot' and 'little legs' and other such hurtful names :sad: so it's obvious to me now why I became such a retrospective recluse with a huge inferiority complex. :bandit: In hindsight my subconcious obviously took those humiliating comments onboard and I ate and ate and became a chunky lump as well!! Do you think I'm beyond help with therapy?? :wonder: Will I ever fully recover and achieve equilibrium?? :doh: Oh ****, all this self psycho-analysing bollox is taking its toll and giving me the stressies so I'm off to nosh a huge slab of Dairy Milk. :happy:

Seriously, we all cope in our own ways. Some people find it hard to come to terms with meanness and I sympathize. I found that growing up on a council estate in the 1950s made you cope.

I've been told I'm very thick skinned and that subtle digs don't work on me. Perhaps that's why I didn't see anything wrong with the banter between DG and Carmel.

But I was never really bullied at school. I wasn't Little Miss Popular but I wasn't the odd one out either. I fared pretty well really. I was a cute child with chubby cheeks and big brown eyes. I wanted to be beautiful but somehow I ended up with cute. I still have those bliddy chubby cheeks!!
