Ok, I only have myself to worry about and what I spend is nowt to do with anyone but I DO feel guilty sometimes for buying things I want but don't need.

Then I see a Lulu Guinness show on QVC and suddenly everything seems fine....

Yes but its nice to look and dream, there"s something about handbags for some women. What about
those expensive candles, (cant remember the name) , i wouldn"t be comfortable spending money on
them, so we all have our own luxuries . I imagine we all work hard and if you can afford it why not,
Whats that saying "if you don"t spoil yourself, who will)

I never feel guilty about spending, but I do feel guilty when I can`t be bothered to send things back knowing I will never use whatever I have ordered.

Couldn't agree with you more SparklyBarbs. I love my handbags and for me it just finishes my outfits. I am happy to spend that little bit extra but I still have a budget and stick within it.

Diptyque.... I know, that's what I mean about guilt. £76 spent last weekend and its literally going up in smoke. At least you're not going to get a £300 LG bag home and set fire to it.

But it gives you pleasure, so why not. I can only afford the bags if easy pay,and
when i seen Lulu"s sale a couple of weeks ago, the bags were 70% off , so i
then look at the prices on QVC and think "NO" but i enjoyed the lead up to
it. Fun. And i"m sure your candle is exquisite and probably will last longer
than normal, when its smoking away :wonder:

Not into expensive handbags-cheapo ones do me- but I don't feel guilty when I treat myself to things that I do like. I'm a non-smoker so don't waste money on cigarettes--now that really is money going up in smoke.

Apologies to all smokers as I know it can be a difficult habit to break.

When i think of the things ive bought from QVC with the greatest intention and never use, like the steamer
thing, nearly £70 used once and put in skip, that makes me mad, and loads of other things i really needed,
now that is a waste of money, but i think more now thankfully

I did the YC AD one year.....truly shocked at how much I'd spent on candles that year....never again *shudders*.

Some I whipped through just to use by the next delivery...some I didn't even like

Well you've found a use for LG in your life Burlz. Carry on treating yourself. Life is top short not to enjoy the ride.

No need to feel guilty about about buying things. I love a Diptyque candle and a designer bag. We all work hard to enjoy things in life.

Hi,

if we all liked the same things, life would be really boring.

I have a ton of Tom Ford makeup. I have around 30 designer handbags. I sometimes feel a little guilty about it, but then I dont spend much money on clothes, and I dont drink or smoke.

So, HELL YEAH!

Cheers,
karen

I feel guilty at times buying what is essentially useless stuff, but then I don't smoke (fags are shockingly expensive aren't they?) and I have a tough job so the odd little treat here and there is fine I think. I am a lot less money than I used to be so my treats do not come Q very often, more likely to be TKMax as can get some great bags, bath stuff, scented candles and house stuff there. I also buy from Amazon a lot and have a real weakness for books. In fact have been clicking away on there this afternoon as they have a Kindle sale so have downloaded some stuff. I think that we have to have treats, life can be so grim at times.

I love buying things for my family but I don't spend a lot on myself and if I do I always feel guilty. I don't know why I'm like this but I suspect it's because I grew up in A one parent family and money was always very tight. My lovely mum would go without things so she could buy for me. I think it's obviously left a lasting impression.

I was a single mum and really went without to make sure my son had what he needed (in our worst times I went without food) and now that he is grown up and self supporting I sometimes think I am spending to make up for all those years of not having anything much for me. Lovely son treats me to all sorts these days which is very touching. I feel less guilty about spending on my home than on my person, e.g. a nice cushion seems to induce far less guilt than a nail varnish even tho it cost a lot more.

What a nice post Silversequin, and very much like my own situation in the past. Your son sounds lovely and my son is exactly the same with me now. Let's enjoy our treats whatever they may be, life can't be just about paying bills when we work so hard.

It's nice to treat yourself once in a while. I have been good this year. The only things I have bought have been a candle and a l'Occitane kit. I will probably get a some jewellery for my friend Johanna as a Christmas present this year. I was going to buy the Clarisonic face cleaning thing but it does seem expensive, compared to the price of the cotton discs I normally use!

My philosophy is 'you can't take it with you'. Enjoy it whilst you can - having lost my best friend to leukaemia 15 years ago when she was just over 40, my life changed dramatically for the better. I do what I want, spend what I want and generally have a good time. Who knows what is around the corner

You're surprisingly metrosexual aren't you Julius? Are you sure it's the tight clothes that are attracting hoards of gays to you, and not the whiff of your skin care regime?
