JR is wearing a fake tiara on the telly - so what? It's a prop for a show and it's the Jubilee weekend... it's for FUN.

Still, let's not allow reality to get in the way of an opportunity to get the claws out.

Considering the rest of the so called jubilee celebrations ( bur broadband to watch like the Queen - BT, especially limited Tabasco sauce in union jack box - made in the US, and the dill I bought yesterday in Tesco in Union Jack packaging to name just 3 ridiculous things) I can not see the fuss. Yes she looks an idiot, but no more so then anyone else in fancy dress get up. That hardly means just because you dress up as a clown one day you are going to let it get to your head and act like on forever though.
I just do not understand what it is about the woman that makes her get so many negative remarks on here?

The fact that she exudes the Queen Bee attitude; the fact that she lets us all know at every opportunity how long she has worked there (so what - so has Julian); and as for wearing the tiara - yes its for fun and Simon brought it in for her to wear, BUT its the very fact that she REVELS in being known as HRH, and there's no modesty.

Despite all this, I DO think she is one of the better presenters (when on her own) in respect of not over-hyping products and giving realistic accounts.

I watched a bit of the tsv launch this morning and HRH said that she will be doing the last show where they are now and will put the light out for the last time, bless her, she is so important...

To be honest, I think that's only right. She is one of the longest running presenters afterall - it's fitting. If I had been working somewhere for that length of time and we were moving and I was asked to turn the lights off, I would be both touched and honoured!!

I have often seen the likes of Debbie G pictured privately with Ali Keenan and Kathy, and other presenters getting together. Anyone heard of HRH being particularly pally with a work colleague ? I haven't.

Am so not wishing to be argumentative, or 'stick up' for her, but these comments are ringing so many bells with me and seem to be made just for the sake of it. I don't associate with my work colleagues out of work, very rarely have to be honest, so again, I don't see the issue here.

Yes, she gets on my nerves at time, but I like her, happen to think she is very attractive and admire her professionalism. But, I could say the same for many presenters, so I am not the Julia Roberts fan club jumping to her defence!!

I agree Capirossi. Very fitting that she will switch off the lights. She must love her job to have stayed there all these years, I would be moved if I were in her shoes. As for the Tiara, very tongue in cheek, shows an ability to laugh at herself and a degree of self-awareness, she knows people call her things like Queen Bee, and obviously does not mind. I too don't socialise much with work colleagues, unless it is a specially organised event, and Julia attends those doesn't she? I prefer the company of my family and friends. When you socialise all the time with workmates you end up talking about work most of the time and that's dull!

There is no particular presenter who I really dislike, but I do have favourites. Julian is my absolute favourite, and Julia is probably my favourite female presenter. She is very good at her job and I always like her style, which she sticks too, sod what anyone else thinks.

Tell a lie, Charlie and Dale make me cringe a bit, but Dale knows his onions so I even admire him sometimes.

and that is also a thing I do not get, to me she comes across as a confident woman who researches most of the stuff well, or at least seems to know the product - rather have her presenting then the 2 Irish ladies who's name I can not remember (Carmel I think is one of them)
still each to their own, but JR does gets some ribbing on here

I don't socialise with people at work either. Full stop. They don't pay me to do that.

Also it's easier when the time comes to stab them in the back :0)

I can't blame her if she does not socialise with work colleagues. I would not want to hang out with Debbie Greenwood either! I still think the tiara looked daft - some disagree. It might have been better if Simon Wilson had worn it,

never did understand the not socialising with colleagues thing.

surely - if you are lucky - you make friends in all walks of life. i have friends i've had for 20, 30, 40 years who i met at work. some of them i worked with for as many years. work is a much nicer place with friends around you. it's not just me either, the last place i worked, there were various groups of people who gravitated towards each other and spent time together out of work. one group of about 10 regularly go skiiing together.

you spend a large part of your life at work. why is it ok to make friends at college, in the pub, anywhere but work?

as for JR, yes she did look stupid but she did say it was simon's idea.

Julia and B & W

I do admire the fact that she will do anything to promote this range, but what did she look like wearing that tiara? Her nickname may be HRH (why?), but that was taking conscientiousness to a whole other level, and a bit too far! btw, Ali does deserve the aka of Lady Keenan.:flower:

Ali said before midnight last night when Julia appeared in tiara, that she (Ali) is the queen and a princess wears tiara, that was priceless!

caught the midnight hour and couldn't quite work out if Renee was wearing a garter or it was the top of her stay ups but whatever it was she was openly flaunting it in full view to the camera, bizarre!!!

I saw Julia in the Tiara thing and she looked like a Granny who'd been in the kids dressing up box or Sindy doll's Mother!
She's a bit me me me to be sure....but I would rather watch Julia all day every day than the cringingly awful woman child Claire "faux" Sutton and her yellow flicky hair and her incredibly patronising silly girly wirly look at me cutesy presenting style which is insulting to watch!
