Never been a fan of mouthy (but described as "bubbly" ) women - and there's more than a fare share on the telly.
I have a friend who would describe herself as "bubbly " but in truth she's just mouthy. These types start off with an interesting topic of conversation but then go on for too long and when you try to interject a word or two they just raise their voices and drown you out. It's not a conversation. It's a monologue.

Her name is Elizabeth and like many she prefers Lizzie. Cundy is her married name, although she is divorced.
You can't help wonder what was wrong with her maiden name to jettison it... unless at the time of the divorce his name had more clout?
She's following in the footsteps of Agatha Christie, who kept her ex-husband's name for professional use.
Or Susan Sarandon, who kept her ex-hubby Chris's surname professionally.

I found a lovely link for the shipping forecast https://jonn.substack.com/p/where-do-the-shipping-forecast-regions

If you use the link to the BBC's animation, next to it is a link to Alan Bennett reading the shipping forecast.

As someone who grew up at the coast (Tyne), within sight of several coastguard stations, I have a healthy respect for the power of the sea. There is something soothing, reassuring and cosy about the shipping forecast. It's up there with a crackling log fire on a winter's evening... it will attach lead weights to your eyelids, or give you a deep relaxing exhale of breath.

Thank you - I listen to the forecast to fall asleep. I find it so relaxing to hear it ❤️

Lizzie Cundy's maiden name was Miller I believe. However, who would know who she was if she reverted to her maiden name? Same as Angie and Alex Best? Their ex husband was George Best. Angie Bowie (David Bowie's ex wife) They would fade into nothingness without a famous (or semi famous) name. All about keeping yourself in the papers I suppose (and getting paid to do so).

I understand from divorced friends that they keep their exes name as they wish to keep the same surname as their children

Well it's all legal whatever the reason. As I said before, I kept my married name as everyone knew me by that name and still do. Hardly anyone actually knows I was even married lol.

My old schoolfriend has been divorced for many years and got married to her long term partner last year. She has kept her former married name due to it being a pain to change everything into her new name and at 76 does it really matter now.
