Now I'm not talking about the likes of the birdy song or Agadoo 'cause let's face it they're so bad they're good. I'm thinking about middle of the road rubbish songs that have graced our charts over the years and literally haven't had any airplay since, and for good reason, but then all of a sudden they pop into your head as an earworm that you can't get rid of. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you "One man woman" by Sheena Easton and "I won't run away" by Alvin Stardust. So come on folks can you think of a pretty dire song that nobody hears anymore, I need a new earworm!

Bugger and pox. I liked the birdy song: actually have / had it on a 45. But Agadoo. That's a pain twice over and I can't say it's 'good', thanks all the same. But, and I can't recall anything in particular, the amount of times I've woken up at 'stupid o'clock' and had a song 'appear' and I can't get it out of my head, so consequently, I can't sleep for ages ;) Earworms are bad :p

I put this question to Mr MA, and he immediately replied with a rant “that bl**dy pencil case song, love you from the bottom off my pencil case, what the heck is that about and now it’s gonna be going around in my head all night.” He was referring to “Song for Whoever” by Beautiful South.
Not sure it fits the criteria of a rubbish song myself.
I’ll throw in one from the seventies for your consideration. “Oh Lori” by Alessi.

Anything by Chicago and the lead singer's solo stuff. Whining sung in a high picked voice. Think one is the theme from the Karate Kid? They all sound like the same song, They used to get played loads in shopping centres or department stores.

Everybody wants to rule the world by Tears For Fears, then they released a version for Live Aid which made it even worse.

I hate "Where do you go to my lovely" (or something like that) by Peter Sarsdedt (sp).

If it ever comes on the radio, I have to rush to switch it off, and the video is just as bad.

But some people like it, just as well we're not all the same.

His brother did a cracking version of My Resistance Is Low, I remember as a teenager. His name might have been Robin?

I hate Hey Jude by The Beatles, so for me that is a rubbish song.

Oooh I bliddy love that one me! Ladies and Gentlemen I give you Paul Nicholas - Dancing with the Captain and Grandma's party....ffs what a load of guff! Though I guess that could fall into the realms of "novelty records" which I can usually just about bear as they have some kind of irony about them, so bad they're good and yes Russ Abbott I mean you! Just lately though the amount of absolutely crappy songs from way back when that never get any airplay (and for good reason) keep popping into my head...oh $hit here we go again "Love me love my dog" - Peter Shelley....goooooo awaaaay! Oh and I totally agree with song who whoever...it's awful!

Of course TOTP has long gone, and I'm not even sure I'd bother to watch if it was still on due to the music of today. Don't get me wrong there's the odd thing I hear that I like, but like I say it's the odd thing. I just remember in the 70's you'd often get a random middle aged bloke/woman singing a ballad, and I don't mean a power ballad - a song really. Could you imagine anything near the likes of Roger Whittaker, songs like Torn between two lovers by Mary McGregor, or Lena Martell gracing the charts of today? Even Songs of Praise wouldn't even have 'em nowadays. Novelty records are few and far between now, apart from the Sausage roll lot at Christmas. I never thought I'd turn into my grandmother - "What's that awful racket"? I'll give it to my mum as she did actually like a lot of the stuff I listened to in the 1980's, but my nan used to actually "spit the words popular music"!

One song that should be 'rubbish' I liked. Can't remember it's title, but I will 'sing it to you'. Wassa matter you, why you looka so sad, it's a nicer place, shutuppa ya face. The lyrics may vary, but you get the idea. ;)

Shaddupaya face! Bloody hilarious and I think it went down in history as the song that kept Ultravox Vienna off the No. 1 spot! Again Shaddupya Face is a novelty record which are meant to be awful. I wanna hear about all those "limp as a lettuce" hits of the 70's, 80's and 90's that are never heard on the radio, never feature on compilations are nobody's guilty pleasure!

......and here's some more shocking chooons for your consideration (all tv related) Every Loser wins - Nick Berry, More than in Love - Kate Robbins & The worst of them all, Anyone can fall in love - Anita Dobson:sick:🤮💩, FGS Brian May, you are a respected musician from one of the greatest bands the world's ever seen and you didn't stop your wife from making an utter fool of herself, a gentle hand on her shoulder and a "no darling, no" would've done!

No! Tears for Fears is not a nothing songbook!
Watch film: Donnie Darko. Great soundtrack. Clever film. Had to watch it more than once to understand the nuances. Not a bland set in the 80s film that it first appears. Far cleverer.

Anyway, those mid rock songs like Foreigner, Chicago.
Starship..

Nah, they're good really.

Joe Dolce shaddap a your face. Brotherhood of man, save all your misses for me.

Nah, they're all good really, even the bad ones. Earworms.
