So Gavin and Stacey received record figures, but as a viewer who had never watched it until last night, I didn’t get the hype.
I got into it after it's initial success and binge watched it on the BBC Iplayer. Takes a while to get to know the characters, it would be difficult to get it if you've not seen it. For example Dawn and Pete who were separated, then got back together, they were always arguing throughout. I thought it was good, particularly the stag do where they found out all their old haunts were gone, and some left early. It made Smithy feel old.

I have watched every episode and all my family love it. I have to say lasts night episode was okay but not a patch on the first series. In my humble opinion the first series and the first Christmas special is superb. Have a watch. They are all on the iPlayer

You have to watch it from the start to understand each character. I love it, and was emotional at the ending.
You beat me to it🙂. The ending was emotional, and the wedding was so much simpler than the planned wedding. And it's probably for the best that we didn't find out what happened on the infamous fishing trip🤣. It brought the storyline to a conclusion which was good. And I liked when Pam was explaining her plans when Mick dies, and he was sat there listening😵‍💫🤣

He is a real gentleman when you meet him. I have seen him shopping in Morrisons at Teesside Park a few times, and he always says hello ladies, and will hold a door open for you.

I remember a show where he was touring in Australia, and there was a lot of footage showing him outwith show and the contrast to his outrageous stage persona was quite amazing.

I listened to the audiobook of A Christmas Carol this evening, Patrick Stewart was doing all the voices, I really enjoyed it. I often can't find anything to watch on TV so I read a lot and have background music.
I was very lucky to see him perform A Christmas Carol in the West End, too many years ago to count. He was amazing.
