I remember during the Queen’s silver jubilee fleet review in the Solent, there was a fly past. It must have gone on for around an hour. Fortunately I live in the flight path.That’s the point, he came out with absolute twaddle Completely clueless. You’re right, Zeppelins we’re WW1 and the Lancaster was a piston engined bomber from WW2. Great fun to listen to, his take on history linking it his crappy watches.
Spitfires, Hurricanes, Lancasters, Hercules, Gazelles, Chinooks etc, most flying quite low, plus the Red Arrows.
Still get the occasional Chinook flying over, whole house seems to rattle if flying directly overhead. There’s also a couple of spitfires that do trips out of our local airfield, again another distinctive sound.
