You get the impression he is a loose cannon in all respects on air. The price details failed to appear instantaneously for him, and you could just feel the frustration generating from him. Then there was a pointed tap of the finger on the desk. You can see now how that previous incident occurred, which was also triggered by some sort of gallery cock up - the one that led him to be briefly suspended, four or five years ago. He wants perfection? He was a major BBC TV star in the previous century. You can understand him getting annoyed within incompetence around him. Though, he can’t even get the day right from his side of things - twice.

I still can’t understand how he’s still got a job

I don’t think you’re alone with this. When I started work back in the late 60s, we had a manager who was like this. Yes, we had office banter but never crossed the line to be offensive. Our office was multi cultural, Asian, West and East African, Caribbean, Eastern European and South American. We got on well together and did Josh each other but never racially or religiously, although one guy insisted on calling Roman Catholics “rock cakes” for some reason.

The crude manager didn’t like it when all “the girlies” as he called us, reported him. He got transferred to another site in a far flung part of the Commonwealth. This was in the days before any discrimination laws.

Just think the low calibre of individual creating these 'messages' Jazzy. They wanted to work in television and they are stuck there doing that ignominious role, cut and pasting dodgy price comparisons to fool old ladies instead.
