Help Support ShoppingTelly:

She's been to a conference (one in Denmark) which seems to have morphed into attending medical conferences around the world. Shes not lecturing, she was invited as a Patient case study, she just tells folks attending the conference her experience with her particular medical condition (anemia i think).
Well she certainly doesn’t suffer with laryngitis!

This is the inescapable truth that selly telly will have to face more and more. As we've discussed many times before, nearly everything IW sell can be found cheaper online.

I genuinely feel sorry for those viewers (mainly elderly) who aren't aware of cheaper alternatives online or simply don't know how to access them.

I'll say again, with the possible exception of QVC, I cannot see how the likes of IW can survive in years to come. Selling very generic items that can be found cheaper elsewhere, yeah, great business model.

The one thing I could throw their way is that if they (elderly viewer example) don't have a go to person at home and aren't very tech savvy like my mum, they can pick up a phone and have the item at a couple of quid more but delivered. My whole family seem to think Amazon is some big mystery thing that only I have the secret lol. And to be fair there are a lot more steps to getting something on Amazon if technology is against you. But that is hardly a growing market. I think Hobbymaker do a live instagram chat everyday with viewers as well. You've got to incorporate other avenues

'What if this helps, even just a little bit? We can't promise it will, no one can do that about anything, however ...'

Jeez, you could say that about ANYTHING!

'What's that? You're feeling a bit low? Let me slap you around the chops a dozen or so times. That might help jolt you out of it. I can't make any promises though!'

actually I have slapped myself in the face a few times and it has really helped*

*always seek advice from your doctor before slapping yourself in the face

Interesting watch on the last night, really. You somehow got the impression that it was a very quiet Wednesday evening, and not very much was selling at all. Why did you get that impression? Probably because of the interest clearly shown in the forum, with the continued and pointed use of forum users names at least two or three times. You’d think, if they were monitoring sales figures, running a busy desk, organising camera angles etc…there wouldn’t be time to check to see Jazzy doesn’t call herself Jazzy when sending a text to the studio.. Then amazingly, features one from Emma from Bristol gushing about some product or other. Of course, it could be other forum users texting in and using other forum users names? But with the Jazzy/Emma thing, I doubt it. Seemed to cause upset, and just seems a very strange way of tackling an ongoing dislike for comments etc. made here. Why doesn’t somebody from the channel come on here and do a Q&A to answer criticisms directly, and have a sensible mass debate about them? That would be the constructive approach.

Thanks Duke, With my issues, I’m seen as a vunerable adult, and maybe in a naive way, when I text which I have done genuine a couple of times, asking questions over a coat and pillows, then I feel I should be able to be me

I could tell it upset you. And if they ARE hacked off with what's being said here, you are not one of the main protagonists and are usually very constructive in what you say. I thought it was a gutless and cruel thing to do. If they read the forum as we suspect they do, they will have picked up from your comments that you're disabled, and disabled people should be encouraged to contribute, and not be ridiculed by implication.

They need to be very careful. One day someone will finally take notice of this lot and the way they work. It doesn't take much for a story to go viral these days. The fact they are bullying a vulnerable person by using her name won't go unnoticed. It's documented here when it happened and will be easy for the owner to find out who was on duty. And the people at the top won't take any responsibility for it, they never do. Let's hope their crew's details aren't leaked to the media, good luck finding another job after you've been sacked for faking buyers and bullying a vulnerable adult, one Google search will show your what you've done. And what won't go unnoticed is the fact that it's gone on so long with no-one stopping it.

Just something for the crew to think about. Have a nice day.

Seems to apply to this channel only. Or does a similar culture exist on TJC? Maybe not? Too busy selling things to people, you might assume. For me, they have some key issues to address with Ideal World - problems that have hung around like a bad smell since it was launched…

1) Cut the unsourced price comparisons. Use sourced and viewer checkable ones only.
2) Only use genuine viewers product endorsing comments to the studio.
3) Keep a digital log to check presenter ‘factual’ lowest price ever statements about past showing of products are accurate or not
4) Don’t use high and out of stock RRPs on manufacturer websites as live positive price comparisons with goods in the studio. Only quote goods currently available to order at the time of broadcast
5) Stop the ‘We Got The Price Wrong’ hysterics.
5a) Don’t say you rub beauty creams into your dog’s paws..

I would love to Praise the channel up, as this will sound strange, but I watch the channel as a Escape
