Why would you put a furry blanket on your garden furniture in the summer? He must be on a promise tonight, he is so hyped up. I bet he keeps one of those blankets in his boot for his "stargazing" visits to Hampstead Heath. 🤣🤣
I think he's been sniffing the metal polish...😁

I've been busy this evening, got a lot of catching up to do on here! It seems Pedro is acting more strange than usual (and that's saying something!) Or ever more desperate to get a sale.

Have to admit, I'm slightly relieved Duke of Cheese is awol tonight.

What he would have done with the idea of Pedro in a negligee luxuriating on a wolf sherpa blanket really doesn't bear thinking about.

I feel filthy for even having the thought.

(Sally has nine bottles of Horatio in her basket, while Chris and Mark are trying to get them :ROFLMAO:)
I'm struggling with the concept of Sally, Horatio, Chris and Mark. I'm wondering what they're up to!

I wonder how long old Pete will go on for? He's obviously got some unsuccessful obsession with trying to remain youthful. You can see and hear that. Must be mid-60s now. He was doing Ronald McDonald (not in that way) on promotions back in the mid-1980s, and he looked in his late 20s then. Is it the money or his perceived adulation from unseen old women he craves still? Or a bit of both. Will he still be doing this in 10 years time, say? It's a dying off market, literally for him and all the others who've been working for decades in it. Anybody much under 60, generally speaking would switch him and the rest off immediately -let alone hang around to buy anything. I honestly cannot see even QVC being around at some point in the next couple of decades. Not in its present form at least. Ideal World's and the others' offered way of buying is a completely outdated concept of purchasing goods to anybody young. It focuses to survive on a market that won't be around in the long-term. There seems no way of spicing it up to appeal to a market who will be.

I totally agree Duke. Just speaking for myself I only watch for a laugh (in conjunction with this forum). Even if the channel was better I wouldn't watch with an intention to buy. I might buy off their website but the concept of watching random things presented tlin the hope that I might see something I want to buy seems an odd concept these days.

However, I can see that some people would like it. Possibly older or lonely people who like the presenters and feel they know them. Perhaps people who don't like a lot of TV programmes these days and don't have a smart TV to give more choice. But I don't feel that this is a sustainable business model, you have to consider if this audience are buying much or just watching it for company. And there is no sign of IW trying to adapt their business model in order to attract a younger, more tech savvy audience.

How many times have we heard desperate presenters manically saying products are flying out the door but then have loads left at the end. And we don't know how many they started with.

They couldn’t sell this way to a young, streetwise audience. With those ridiculous price comparisons and describing cheap tat as similar to expensive, designer labels. They’d firstly check the Net properly to see they could buy elsewhere cheaper - that’s if they even got that far and hadn’t switched off yet. It’s essentially young production staff fooling the old and the gullible, or both - fronted by the presenters. A completely seedy and misleading way of selling for me, deliberately targeted to the old and the lonely. Make the most of it while you can - Ideal World.

Linear tv is dying and not just for selly telly. Younger generations don't want to 'sit and watch telly' the way we did and do. They're unlikely to develop this desire as they get older. I suppose selly telly can try to adapt, more online, more social media engagement, however I very much doubt the likes of IW will be able to make a success of such a transition in years to come. QVC maybe yes cause of their sheer size, maybe even TJC but their sister brand IW, nah.

And I keep on coming back to the fact young folk aren't going to sit and watch linear tv presentations of items that are commonly found on Amazon and multiple other online retailers.

They tried the marketplace and we all saw how that went.

I remember years ago someone I worked with saying his 15 year old son didn’t watch TV, he just watched YouTube channels. I've come across this since, a family 2 doors down from me don't own a television. I don't watch much live TV, most of it is streamed later.

i think the concept of sitting down at a certain time to watch a programme is becoming more out of date, but not by all obviously. And trends move very quickly these days that it can be difficult to keep up.

I look at the Fashion and think why would anybody from a Shopping Channel.

Especially because online YouTube videos, hand brand ambassadors, modelling the clothes, and often with big discounts.

IW sell so much crud, about 12.30 last night, Emma was selling a make up mirror, with Bluetooth speakers who thinks of these things
Yes, they sell unusual items! I have a very small Bluetooth speaker that I use when I'm playing music or listening to podcasts on my ipod, it's small but with a very powerful sound. I move the speaker from room to room if doing housework. Why you would want a mirror with a speaker?
